The next day, I waited patiently for William to come to the apartment looking for Grell. Grell was currently curled up on the couch, "absolutely exhausted" from William's paperwork. William came in as if on cue, then I stood up, grabbed his tie, and shoved him against the wall.
"Can I be a Reaper?" I asked in a cute bubbly voice, smiling my cutest smile. William stared at me for a good minute then answered with, "If that's what you desire, then yes, I suppose." My eyes lit up. "And, seeing how we have very few actual Reapers, you'll become a full Reaper immediately." I let go of his tie and smiled even more.
"Oh my gosh! You're serious!" I ran over to Grell and just about tackle-hugged him. "Grell! Isn't this awesome?!" I didn't give Grell time to respond. "Wait, what do we do first?" I looked to William, who was currently fixing his tie. He sighed and didn't reply in words. Instead, he grabbed my arm and took me somewhere.
"First, we get you officially stated as a Grim Reaper." He led me down this incredibly bright white hallway. He then pulled me into a room that was filled with people.
"Short on Reapers? Really?" I looked at him, amused. He sighed and continued walking. I hurried to catch up.
"Those would be students. My students. Now, come on, it isn't much farther." I had to practically run to catch up with him. Finally, we came to a stop in another white room. I sighed and William looked at me. "What is it now?"
"Everything's white! Where's the color?! I just wanna grab a bucket of paint and splat it on the wall!" William looked agitated. I heard him mutter, "Honestly", then he went to a desk and pulled out a folder. He handed it to me. "Fill that out, then give it to that Reaper over there," he said, pointing to a Grim Reaper with blonde hair. I nodded, sitting down at the desk. William looked even more agitated and I looked at him.
"What? I need somewhere to write." William sighed.
"That would be my desk." I smirked and put my feet up on the desk. I continued filling out the paper. He went to push my feet off the desk, but I lifted them, fake pouting, "Willy, I need comfort!" The blonde Reaper looked over and laughed. William was about to lose it and I knew it. I quickly finished the form and stood up. "Alright, I've had my fun, have your desk." I reached over to him and ruffled his hair.
"Lucille!" William yelled, losing his patience. I giggled and quickly dashed over to the blonde Reaper, handing him the form.
"Hiiii! I think he's about ready to kill me," I half-joked. The blonde shrugged, amused.
"Eh, Will gets that way with Sutcliff all the time. That's why no one freaks when they see Grell being dragged through the hall," the blonde Reaper replied. "Oh, by the way, I'm Ronald Knox," he said, holding out his hand. I shook his hand, smiling. "Oh! You're here to be a Reaper? Well, I guess it makes sense. Most people know better than to sit at Will's desk-" He was cut off by William saying, "You are to be helping her then she is to come with me. I don't have time for you two to gossip. I giggled.
"Oh, William, you're so uptight! Loosen up already!" I said, leaning against the desk Ronald was at. He laughed behind me and handed me the folder. "Thanks." I turned around and waved to him, the back of my shirt being grabbed by William. He pulled me out into the hall, dragging me to another room.
"Did William get another pet Reaper?" a Reaper murmured as I was dragged past them. That pissed me off. I'm no one's pet. I dug my heels into the ground, making William stumble.
"What are you doing now?" William sighed, letting go off me and turning to me. I growled, "I am not a Reaper pet." William looked at the Reaper who had said that, gave him a look, then sighed, walking to the other room. I followed him, feeling like a pet.
