A sneeze escaped the neko's snout once more.
"Say, are you alright Nekudo?" Ran says with a worried voice. It seemed like the only time Ran got to see the black neko again was today. She never would have thought that after staying with Heiji only once the black got so hooked with him that he didn't want to go home anymore. But Ran considered it lucky that it was someone she knew.
Heiji decided to bring Shinichi along with Ran and Kazuha to their trip to East Okuho village. On the outskirts of Okuho city. Even if Heiji wanted to leave him behind to rest, Shinichi insisted on coming, and just asked some medicine before meeting up with Ran and Mr. Kogoro from Agasa.
"It'll be OK" Heiji says with a smile as he looked behind him. Next to Kogoro who was driving the car.
"He took a cold medicine from Agasa, it'll be alright in no time!"
Kazuha went and intervened.
"What was this, 'miracle drug'?" She asked, suspicious.
"This better not be that stuff you brought over when we first met you back at the detective office" Kogoro mumbled out with a suspicious look on his face too.
Heiji froze in place.
"It was that Chinese liquor Beigar, wasn't it?"
"No, No!" Heiji insisted nervously. He did regret doing that and thinking back to it he seemed like he was really out of it at that time too.
"This medicine will be much more effective than something like that alcohol, Right Nekudo?" Heiji says with a soft smile, a very cheerful and cute smile which did make Shinichi nod slowly and embarrassed.
"Still, are you sure this is alright?" Kazuha asks looking at Heiji with a concerned expression.
"The person we're going to meet wrote in the letter that they had to tell Kudo-kun something, but it wasn't specifically to us. They'd be disappointed if we come without Kudo-kun?"
Ran looked at them with an astonished look on her face.
"Is that so?"
Kazuha nodded.
"They claimed to have found a mistake in the deduction behind a murder case Kudo-kun solved a year ago, and wanted to meet and discuss it"
"And based on that mistake with his deduction..." Heiji interrupted the two as he trailed off.
"They reinvestigated from scratch and are plannin' to disclose the real truth behind the case to us."
"Well- I emailed Kudo about it..." Heiji mumbled. But he knew very well the two had talked face to face about it when the letter was received.
"But why would the letter be sent to your place?" Kogoro mumbled, a puzzled expression being seen on his face as he continued to look at the road.
Heiji was in shock, trying to find an excuse.
"That might be because I'm Kudo's best buddy!" Heiji beamed happily as Nekudo just looked away. It was a good thing no one can truly see his face because he could tell his whole face heating up just hearing Heiji say that in that way. It warms himself up inside. But of course that had to be interrupted by small cat like cough.
Shinichi decided to think back about this case. He thought long and hard about what could have gone wrong with the case.
'I only had one case in Okuho Village but... A reasoning mistake? Really?' Shinichi thought to himself with an annoyed and confused look on his face.
"That has me worried..."
"Is that true?!" Heiji says with complete shock as he smacked his hands onto the reception desk. The old man looking from the glass.
"Yea, the search request was issued half a year ago.." The old man started.
