Mal, Evie, and I were in our dorm I was sitting on my bed reading while Evie was working on Mal's Cotillion dress. "Oh! Okay, Evie, I cannot breathe" Mal tells her. "Well, you can breathe after Cotillion" Evie tells her. "Well, I sincerely doubt that. I have at least 20 more events directly behind it, and I can't even remember what a single one of them is" Mal rants to us. 

I give her a look of sympathy while Evie says "Impeccable" admiring her work. "Evie? Soph?" Mal starts. "Hmm?" Evie hums while I put down my book. "Do you ever think about what we'd be doing if we were back on the Isle right now?" She asks us. "All the time" I say at the same time as Evie who says "That's funny" then changes the topic "Ah! Look who's on TV" 

On the TV we hear a woman speaking "As the royal couple continues their tour of the kingdom, they dined with Aladdin and Jasmine. Six months ago..." "Yeah" Mal says as the TV continues "No one thought King Ben and his girlfriend from the wrong side of the bridge would last" "Yeah. No kidding" "Mal must be counting the days until the Royal Cotillion... when she will officially become a Lady of the Court" The TV continues as Mal realizes she forgot something and picks up her spell book and another book. "Read it fast at lightning speed. Remember everything I need" Mal chants the spell and starts quickly flipping through the other book.

"I know Mal's secret to fitting in, and Ben wouldn't like it one bit. Haven't you guys had enough secrets between the two of you already?" Evie says heading over towards her. "Evie, you remember what I was like before I started using my spell book. I mean, I was a complete disaster" Mal says in her defense. "Well, personally, as your best friend, I strongly believe that this spell book--" Evie starts picking up the spell book despite Mal's protest "Ah!" Then continues "It belongs in the museum, along with my mirror. Don't give me the face. Put the pout away. Mm-hmm. You know I'm right" Evie says and then turns to me "Yours should be in the museum as well" "But I barely even touch mine" I tell Evie who just gives me a 'mom look' in return. 

"You don't ever miss running wild and just breaking all the rules?" Mal asks us and I agree immediately "Sometimes" "Like stealing and lying and fighting?" Evie questions "Yeah!" Mal agrees excited thinking Evie would agree but instead she says "No!" 

"What?" I question her. "Why would we? girls, come here. Look at where we are. We're in Auradon! And we're Auradon girls now" She says holding both of us to her sides as the TV says "Since Mal revealed her love of strawberries, she has received hundreds of cartons from her admirers. Here she is enjoying a cozy bite..." 

"See, this is the land of opportunity. We can be whatever we want to be here. So, please, let's just leave the past in the past, okay?" Evie begs us and then adds "Besides, I mean, look at the shoes. Look at them" I laugh as Mal says "Mm. Severe"

We were on our way to class when a group of girls start calling out. "Hi, Jay" "Hey" "Jay" "Hey, what's up?" "Hi" Jay goes back and forth with the girls. "Why do you torture them? Just pick someone to take to Cotillion already" Carlos tells Jay who responds "I'm going solo. That way, I can dance with all of them" 

"Ah! You're the expert" Carlos agrees then asks "Um, Jay... if you were gonna ask someone, what's the best way to go?" Jay turns to him and says "Listen, all you got to do..." then pauses and finishes with "Is look like me" "Oh, ha-ha" Carlos laughs sarcastically. Jane then comes over calling out "Mal" Carlos intercepts and says "Hey, Jane" "Hey" she says back. "I was wondering...uh... if you liked the.... carrot cake last night" Carlos attempts to flirt. "I had the pumpkin pie" Jane says smiling. 

"Oh, cool. Um, uh--" he starts but Jay pulls him away saying "Smooth" "I have an opening for a fitting at 3:00. Who wants it?" Evie says as Lonnie heads over and yells "Me!" then turns to Jane and says "Sorry" "Perfect" Evie says then turns to Jane and says "I'll take you later" Jane then turns to Mal and calls her name to get her attention "Mal?" "Yes?" "I hate to keep bugging you, but the decorating committee needs more answers. So, as much as I hate to, um... you know, um..." "Bug me?" Mal questions. "Right" Jane agrees.

"Yeah, Jane, I would love to. I just have to get to class" Mal says and tries to walk past. "You know, just nod if you like it" "Okay" Mal agrees and Jane starts listing off items "Chair swags. Entry banner. Twinkle lights. Napkin design. Table bunting. And you still haven't picked the party favors yet" "Honestly, Jane, whatever you think--" Mal tries to say tiredly. "I mean, we can do chains, key charms, pen toppers. I kind of love the pen toppers, but, I mean, we can do all three" She continues and Mal's eyes go green for a second and I say to her "Mal are you okay?" She turns to me says "Yeah I'm fine" then turns to Jane and says "I say pen toppers"

"Yeah?" Jane questions. "Yeah" Mal confirms. "You won't regret it" "Okay" Then Lonnie says to Mal "I can hardly wait to see what your wedding will look like!" "Me, too" Mal answers but then realized what she said and almost yells "Wait! What?!" "The Royal Cotillion is like getting engaged to be engaged to be engaged" Jane explains. "I knew it!" Evie exclaims. "Well, everyone knows it" Lonnie says and I say "I didn't" while Mal agrees and starts panicking "I didn't know it! How come nobody told me that? Is my entire life just planned out in front of me--" Ben then comes over and interrupts her rant by saying "Hi, Mal" All the girls besides me and Mal say "Hi, Ben" Jane then pulls him away "Oh, oh. Quick moment" They talk for a few minutes while Mal and I wait and he says "Uh... see you later" "Okay" Mal agrees sadly and we start heading to class.

I was in our dorm with Evie and Doug while Chad was getting fitted for Cotillion. "What about peacock feathers? Yeah, I bet you nobody's gonna have those at Cotillion" Chad boasts. "Chad, when I look at you, all I can think of is... king" Evie explains which makes him gasp and she continues "And fake fur... Uh-huh. ...fake fur says it all" "Loud and clear" Doug agrees and I add "One hundred percent" Jay walks back and calls into the room to Chad saying "Amphitheater in five!" Chad nods and then start ranting to us "Why did the coach make him captain instead of me? I'm obviously better. "King Chad," though. I do rather like that. You know who else would like that?" "Who?" I ask. "Audrey" "She would" Evie agrees. "Chad, let's go" Jay yells in.

"I'm coming. Yeah. Oh" Chad says starting to walk away with the cape but Evie grabs it and we look at each other laugh and say at the same time "Not a lot of there there" "Someone's obviously having some trouble dealing with his break-up with Audrey" Evie says. "A lot of trouble" I say then Doug says "Yes. I've been doing the numbers" "Yeah?" Evie asks. "And after we collect from all the girls for their gowns and Chad's cape..." Doug presses a button and shows Evie the computer. 

"Wow! No wonder people work. What am I gonna do with all this money?" Evie says in shock. "I think in the next few years, you could buy that castle you always wanted. That way, you wouldn't need a prince" Doug says. "You're right, I don't. Because I have you" Evie says smiling at Doug kissing his cheek. "You guys are so cute. Makes me sick" I joke and Evie throws a pillow at me while Doug and I laugh.
