7. Heart Monitor

The next day, Stiles was also angry with Scott for ghosting him yesterday, so I went with him to the school as I knew he won't pick Scott up today, but to be honest, I have been rethinking this whole issue with Scott lately, as he is trying his best to apologize to me. After getting to school, we went to our class just as Scott entered. He sat between Stiles and me. He poked Stiles on the shoulder and asked, 

"Still not talking to me?" 

Stiles didn't reply so he turned towards me, 

"You too huh." 

And I also kept doing my work, without replying. 

"Can one of you at least tell me if your Dad's okay? I mean it was just soft tissue damage right?"

He sighed and asked us, but we still didn't say anything so he kept rambling on about how, he felt really bad about everything, and then he said to me that it wasn't him that day who said all those things. He was not in his senses. I still was quiet so he waited for a few seconds and then started again, 

"What if I told you guys that, I'm trying to figure this whole thing out, and that I went to Derek for help?"

Stiles sighed and said, 

"If I was talking to you I would say you are an idiot for trusting him."

But I had different views, I felt that issue between Scott and me has stretched long enough so I sighed and said, "Look, Scott, I think it's great that you went to Derek for help as he is the most experienced than all of us, but the thing is, it shouldn't matter what any of us think because you were bitten by Alpha, not us. In the end, it's you who have to deiced that when a new day comes will you control it or will it control you as it has been for the last couple of days."  

Scott smiled,

"Thanks for giving me a chance, I promise you won't regret it."

I gave him a small smile and said, "I never have regretted being your friend." Soon, Stiles got impatient so he turned and asked Scott, what Derek told him. But before Scott could reply our teacher came and started the lecture so Scott waited till the end of the class. 

After our class ended and we were getting out while Scott was telling us how Derek claimed that he could help him getting in control. Stiles obviously didn't believe Derek so Stiles challenged that he will teach Scott to be in control by the end of the school day, which I believed was pretty unbelievable.

At lunch, I was sitting with Lydia and Allison, and Allison was telling us about some supernatural stuff from a book, 

"The beast of Gevaudan. Listen. 'A quadruped wolf-like monster, prowling the Auvergne and South Dordogne area of France during the year 1764 to 1767. La Bete killed over 100 people, becoming so infamous that the King Louis XV sent one of his best hunters to try and kill it." 

As Allison was telling us about this Lydia suddenly chimed in, 

"Boring" 

I looked at her and said, "Shut up, it's interesting." So Allison continued,

"Even the church eventually declared the monster a messenger of Satan. Cryptozoologists believe it may have been a subspecies of a hoofed predator, possibly a mesonychid.  While others believe it was a powerful sorcerer who could shape-shift into a man-eating monster."

After Allison completed I asked, "Does any of this have anything to do with your family?"  So she started again,

"It is believed that La Bete was finally trapped and killed by a renowned hunter who claimed his wife and four children were the first to fall prey to the creature. His name was Argent."
