Aurora knocked on the door and when she heard a very rude "Come in.", she held her breath and entered.

"I greet his highness the Crown Prince Vincent." she said and taking a bow.

"You're late." he said. Aurora held back her remark because if she didn't then she might end up getting beheaded this time.

"Your Highness looks quite comfortable." Master Gin said with a cheeky smile. When Aurora looked back up, she was dumbfounded. He was on the couch, leg crossed over the other, collar one button loose and his tie almost hanging on the ground. The room was beautiful thought, if it maybe just wasn't for the mess on the desk behind him.

"Just put the documents on my desk." Vincent told Master Gin and he nodded. He stood up with a smug look on his face and walked up to Aurora.

"Did you solve your debt?" he asked.

"This cocky little-" Aurora thought but grabbed him by the collar and pulled him closer. He yelped forward and felt her buttoning up his collar.

"Your Highness really should be more considerate towards your appearance. What if someone were to walk in and see this behaviour in front of your guest? It's inappropriate behaviour your Highness." she said in frustration and tied his tie. If he were to continue like this the Emperor was bound take away his title. She didn't even realize his lack of responses due to her anger. His ears flushed red at the extreme close contact.

"Um, don't you think this is inappropriate behav-?" he mumbled but choked when she tied the tie extremely tightly.

"Well now, aren't you two close." Master Gin said leaning back onto Vincent's desk.

"Shut up." Vincent said in a hoars voice and loosened his tie a little. Aurora sighed in defeat, was there any use in trying to help this man? He was like a ten year old.

"I'll have a look at the documents when I'm finished with my business with Lady Geshon. So leave." Vincent said glaring at Master Gin.

'The audacity of this man. If he were to knew what Master Gin was capable of... Everyone called him Master Gin for a reason' Aurora thought to herself.

"Very well then. I'll be taking my leave. Oh! Before I forget, the Emperor told me to remind you over that little paper you received two weeks ago. Don't keep him waiting." Master Gin said and with that, he left. Vincent cursed silently but then fell down on the couch.

"Sit." he ordered. Aurora sat down on the couch opposite from him and then she finally realized that there were multiple snacks and tea laid out on the table. Whatever he was going to say had to be important for him to go through so much trouble. Was he going to request the marriage again? And like he was reading her thoughts, he answered,

"No, I'm not here to ask for your marriage." he said laying his head back on the couch.

"Then what could your Highness have on his mind to call me here right after I returned?" she asked.

"The debt? Did you sort it out?" he asked.

"We'll see by the end of the week." she explained.

"You work fast huh?" he said closing his eyes.

"Is he seriously sleeping in front of me...THIS GUY!" Aurora thought. Perhaps he had a tough day like she had. She sat in the silence and closed her eyes. Maybe it would get rid of the headache.

"Are you not going to eat anything?" he asked. Her eyes opened and she looked at him.

"What about you, your Highness? You must be hungry as well." she said taking a small creamed cake from the table. It was so sweet but the sour paste on the bottom blended it out. She couldn't remember when the last time was that she ate something like that.

"I don't exactly have a sweet tooth." he said looking down at the table.

"Alright then." she said trying something else. He put quite effort into arranging this so she might as well enjoy it.

"Is it...good?" he asked tilting his head slightly.

"It's been a while since I had something like this. It's delicious." she said with a smile. Looking at all the sweets she got reminded of Prince Dylan.

"Your Highness, on my way here, a child ran into me. Master Gin told me his identity is Prince Dylan. Is that true?" she asked.

"Prince Dylan? Are you not aware of him? I thought he was well known across the Empire." he scoffed. He lifted his head after the long rest.

"Prince Dylan is the Empress' second child. He is my half-brother. But no one talks about that." he said.

"What do you mean?" she asked.

"You're quite curious today aren't you? I'll tell you since I'm bored but you didn't hear this from me. The Empress forbade Prince Dylan from ever come nearing me. It's quite obvious she doesn't like me and doesn't want him to be involved with me." he explained like it was nothing but she could see he was hurt by it.

"What was Prince Dylan doing in your palace then?" she asked.

"Probably looking for Melin. They are quite close I hear. As far as that boy is concerned, I am a mere guest at the Palace that he is not allowed to see." Vincent said and sighed. The second prince Melin and the third Prince Dylan were true siblings and Vincent was the only one who is left out. She could only imagine how it must feel. Vincent closed his eyes again and rested.

Aurora took this moment of silence to think to herself. Her goal in this life is to avoid Duke Ren, the male protagonist of this novel.

He was too close for comfort. The Western and Eastern Empire were on very good terms with each other since the Eastern Empire specializes in Swordsmanship and the Western Empire in Scholars. It was extremely good for forming businesses.

She had to get away from him. Far, far, far away. But where would she go?

The Northern Empire is a brutal place and is being run like a mafia. The Southern Empire is filled with beautiful sceneries and is always covered in festivals, but unlike the Northern, Western and Eastern Empires, it was not a neighbouring empire. It is divided by a piece of ocean from the rest.

Maybe she could buy a small island to live on? But of course she would need money and her family is already in debt.

"Go get that red stamped document on my desk." Vincent ordered.

"What..." Aurora asked. Was he seriously ordering her to get a document just because he's too lazy to get up?

"...please." he said. The audacity of this man. It surprised her to know that the word 'please' was in his vocabulary.

If it wasn't for his pale complexion, she would have gone off on him for ordering her around. She got up and went over to his desk.

•Financial documents of recent businesses of the Imperial Family

•Reports from search parties

•States of the common folk

•Documents from various families

He was truly covered in work. She spotted the opened document with a red stamp.

"The one with the names?" Aurora asked but only received an approving groan.

Names?

Rose Blam
Claire Tuan
Mia Grandem Der Heyac
Hanna Wenster

And the last name was crossed out.
Siana der Maler

These were all names of very popular women including Princess Mia from the Western Empire and Princess Siana der Maler of the Southern Empire.

What would he be doing with the names of these women?

"Tell me, as the Lady who is at the top of the social chain, who is the perfect Marriage candidate?" he asked, finally sitting up straight.

"MARRIAGE?!" she shouted out and dropped the document.
