The carriage stopped in front of the gates and the gates of the Geshon house opened up.

"Y-your Highness?" Duke Geshon greeted.

"May I know where your daughter is?" Vincent asked with a smile.

"She has been grounded your Highness. I apologize for this inconvenience."

"What a shame. I was going to invite her with me to the Western Empire's ball tomorrow." Vinceydaid with a distressed expression.

"Uh, your Highness was? What an honour for our family!" The Duke answered. Vincent felt angered at that answer. What business man.

"If you wouldn't mind, may she be excused for just three days?" Vincent asked.

"Your Highness..."

"Duke, the time is ticking." Vincent said.

"Well, if it is a a request from your Highness-"

"Great. Fetch her won't you." The prince told his knight.

"Lena, show him to Aurora's room." The Duke said and the maid nodded.

"I would personally like to thank your Highness for what you have done. I am in your debt and I promise to pay you back. You have bought me more time." The Duke said.

"Your daughter is already paying me back. I did not do this for your sake. Lady Aurora has made a deal with me. Do not intervene with her plans or I will make sure this family sinks." Vincent's threatened. The Duke was shocked to hear the prince say that. Aurora came down from the stairs and the knight had her luggage. She put on a cheerful smile and greeted her father and Vincent.

"I would have never expected your Highness to come visit me, never mind invite me. I feel truly honoured." she said bowing. Vincent had to stop himself from throwing up. Where was her cold expression and strictness? What was this cheerful, sickening expression? They left the house and onto the carriage.

"What the hell was that?" Vincent asked her.

"What?"

"That attitude? Are you sick?" he asked her.

"What are you talking about? I was simply acting kindly." she said. He stared at her for a while before mumbling "You two-faced weirdo." and then continued to look out the window.

He soon fell asleep on the window and Aurora didn't want to wake him up so she quietly sat and thought her plan through. She closed the curtains so the light couldn't bother him.

Duke Ren was undoubtedly going to be there. Luckily it was a masquerade ball but despite that he would be able to feel her presence. Her looks alone never made her unrecogniable.

After some time, Aurora felt herself getting sleepy. The carriage came to a halt and she heard a "Ack!" from Vincent as his head hit the window.

They were at the palace of the Grandem Der Heyac family. They were special guests so they were going to stay in the palace.

"Wow would you look at that. The prince himself came to greet us. How admiring." Vincent said sarcastically peeking between the curtains.

"I'm not leaving the carriage." she said promptly.

"What? Aren't you some social butterfly?" he asked her.

"Yes, but I have no desire in letting the royal family see me." she said.

"Why? Do you have some secret ex-husband here?" he asked mocking her.

"Something like that." she said. He was taken aback by her answer but brushed it off.

"Very well. Stay here." he said and exited the carriage. She could hear the greetings and things seemed to go smoothly. His head peeked into the carriage and told her the coast was clear. She placed the hat with the fabric that covered her face on that Lena brought for her and she made her way to the palace bedrooms.

"You look like you just came from a funeral." Vincent remarked but she ignored his useless opinions. They headed to the bedrooms and parted ways. What, did you think they were going to stay in the same bedroom?

Absolutely not!

"There will be a dinning time for the VIPs but don't u worry, you're not special enough. So you can stay in your room to avoid your ex. The staff will provide you with everything you need." he said before he went into his bedroom which was across from hers.

He should be glad he entered his room or else she would have strangled him. The room was as beautiful as any in this novel. Lena entered first to place her luggage down. Aurora laid down on the bed to catch her breath. There was so many overwhelming things happening.

"Are you hungry my lady? I shall fetch us some tea and snacks." Lena said.

"No, there's no need." Aurora said.

"I'm going to go head out for a walk in the palace garden." Aurora said getting up.

"My lady! Allow me to accompany you!" Lena asked. If no one was going to accompany her lady then how was she going to be safe? There were no guards brought that could escort her

"No, please. Once you take care of my luggage go take a break. I wouldn't want my right hand woman passing out." Aurora smiled. Lena smiled back at her and nodded.

"Please be careful on your own my lady." Lena said and Aurora assured her that she'd be okay. The garden was just as it was described in the novel. Blooming with flowers and the smell of fresh scented flowers filled the air.

There was only one reason for coming to the garden. In the novel, Melin was the only one to attend. Due to all the greeting of nobles and showing them around, Prince Zephyr had decided to take a break in the garden. Melin passed the garden and spotted him staring at specific flowers with a longing and sad expression but decided to not intervene.

And just like in the novel, in front of her he stood. White haired male. His blue eyes looked surprised at the sudden reveal of her.

"Oh, apologies. I did not mean to interrupt your walk Your Highness Prince Zephyr." she said taking a bow. He shook his head and smiled.

"Not at all. Did you come to see the flowers...lady?" Prince Zephyr asked not knowing who the lady exactly was. She gave a smug smile.

"Such things as names are not important right now your Highness. Tomorrow is the masquerade ball after all. It would not be a surprise if I were to reveal my identity now would it?" Aurora said placing her fingers close to her lips as she gave a small smile.

"You have a point my Lady. Very well. I do look forward to seeing you tomorrow night." Zephyr said with a smile. Aurora noticed the flowers next to him. They were bright pink Azaleas which hadn't yet bloomed.

"Does your Highness like pink Azaleas?" Aurora asked him. He had an awkward expression.

"Yes, in some way. I find them beautiful." he said. Of course that was not the reason. These pretty dark pink flowers grew like wild fire in his old village and was his mother's favourite. It was the reason why the Imperial Palace gardens were full of them. After his mother's death, he found a reassuring feeling from them but at the same time they disgusted him. He looked at them and scrunched his nose. Aurora already knew that he was being reminded of that terrible scene.

"Prince Zephyr!" she said loudly and his head snapped in her direction. He had a rather taken aback expression about why she called him with such a tone and not even to mention the informality she had in calling his name.

"Azaleas don't grow in the Eastern Empire. The air is way too dry. What a pity. They seem like truly kind and gracious flowers." she said with a smile. Although he knew she did not mean it in that way, but he felt a grateful feeling towards her.

"I shall head back now. Please enjoy your day your Highness." she said.

"Wait, let me escort you my lady." he offered but she declined. She knew about his illness so perhaps escorting her was not the best choice he had made. It was all in formalities after all.

On her way to her a room behind her she noticed a man. He was staring at her in awe. Almost as if he had just seen the most precious diamond in the world. She only offered a smile before returning to her chambers.
