The thoughts in my head were a mess. Aside from feeling embarrassed doing all of those things with Zhao Sheng, I felt fucking frustrated. At myself, at Zhao Sheng, and at Zhou Mu. I hated that I didn't take Zhao Sheng seriously. I should've delved deeper, and I could have prevented the accident. At Zhao Sheng for not telling me what was happening. Hated the fact that he acted calm, trying to hold everything in, even though he looked like he was about to cry. Lastly, Zhou Mu, that bastard. Thankful that he came to find me, yet annoyed that he also kept it in. The perpetrator was also his fucking brother. What the fuck.
Zhao Sheng didn't come to school for three days after that incident. I called him, and he said he went to the hospital, and just wanted to "take some time off" to recover. Zhou Mu was also missing in action. By the time Zhou Mu came back, it was already the following week.
Though, when I saw Zhou Mu's face, my urge to beat him up disappeared into thin air. He didn't look better than the rest of us. He even looked worst. He had a bandage wrapped around his neck, and the corner of his left eye still looked bruised. He had a cut on his lip, and his right eye was covered in a bandage.
When the class saw him, they looked at him in shock. When his usual fangirls came over to say their concern, Zhou Mu didn't smile at them as he usually does. He ignored them, glanced at me, then immediately went to Zhao Sheng's side.
When Zhao Sheng saw him, he didn't look surprised at his injuries. He smiled at Zhou Mu, then touched his own neck which was also wrapped in bandages. A similar scene also happened the day Zhao Sheng returned to school. People looked at him with concerned eyes, but he didn't pamper them with answers nor did he smile at them.
Both of them stopped smiling in front of other people.
Two of the well-known people at school. The number one student and the prince of the school showed up one day full of injuries, people were gonna talk. Some people thought that the two got into a fight with each other. Another group of people thought I've beaten both of them up.
How did I know all of this? With so many people talking about this, it wasn't hard to pick up a rumor here and there. Usually, I didn't care, but this was related to people that I know.
I honestly don't understand the relationship between Zhao Sheng and Zhou Mu. And seeing their interactions after the accident, I'm even more confused.
Seeing them over there talking kinda pissed me off, so I decided to join them. No, not because of jealousy. It was because I felt like they were playing with fire again. "Yo, Zhao Sheng. Zhou Mu, I'll beat your ass later."
"Liu Jian, good news!" Zhao Sheng grinned at me like he usually does as if the whole thing that happened at his house was just my imagination. Though, he was probably just trying to make things less awkward.
"What good news?" I sounded doubtful because the things that came out of this guy's mouth were usually nonsense.
Zhao Sheng made a drum roll on his desk, "Zhou Mu is officially part of our One Brain Cell Club!"
"...Since when do we have a club?" I scratched my head and sighed. "And, why is he in it? He should be the last person to join it." My voice sounded tired more so than it did sounding annoyed.
"In my head, two people is a partnership. Three people is a club. Now that we have three, we have a club.-And because I blackmailed him, so he's part of our club now." He finger gunned me after saying such nonsensical truth.
"He did blackmail me. Very poorly done though," Zhou Mu tapped the desk with a small smile on his face.
"...And you're ok with that?"
