I expected that class to go horrible with constant meddling from Zhou Mu. Who knows what he has in his fancy sleeves? However, there was none of that. The class went on smoothly that I even forgot that Mr.Perfect was next to me.

"You were so focused during class. As expected of the person on the top of our grade."

I felt faintly uncomfortable hearing those words out of this pretty boy's mouth. "...Really?" I refused to make eye contact and got ready for morning exercise.

"Wait." Zhou Mu called out once more. I was getting tired of it.

"What?"

"Run the laps with me."

I was looking forward to a good sweat today, but I changed my mind. You know what that means. I smiled and nodded at Zhou Mu, not saying anything more before leaving the classroom. Instead of going left to go to the track, I turned to the right to see the nurse.

Before entering, I rubbed my eyes and my nose to make them all red and puffy.

"Hello, Ms. Nurse?" I tried my very best to sound as tired and sick as possible. I think it worked because the nurse kindly asked me "what's wrong?"

"I-I don't feel good. Can I skip morning exercise for today and take a rest here?"

The nurse scanned me from head to toe and smiled understandingly. "Of course. Take any bed, except for the one in the corner. I have to go get something from the office. I know you'll behave yourself. I'll be right back!"

The nurse probably knew I was faking it. However, I do have the reputation of being the smartest kid in this prestigious school. Perhaps that's why she was lenient to me.

I laid down on the bed next to the occupied one. I was a tiny bit curious about who it was, but I didn't dare open the curtain. Then I thought about Mr.Perfect. I wonder what his reaction was after figuring out I ditched running with him? Even though I knew what I did was a bit childish, I couldn't help it.

I let my thoughts jump from one thing to another like fleas to the point where I felt like I would fall asleep. I was mid-yawn when I heard a soft moan next to me.

A moan that sounds like someone waking up. Not the other one.

I didn't close my bed curtains so when the person opened theirs, our eyes met. "Ah."

Seeing the tall, dark, and handsome Yakuza man all my morning sleepiness was washed away.

"...It's you."  Liu Jian stated the obvious as he stood up and ruffled his already messy hair.

"Hi to you too, Liu Jian ." I gave him a small wave and a smile before sitting up. "Our encounter here must be fate. The stars have aligned and the moon has shown its glory for you to be the person sleeping next to me."

Liu Jian unexpectedly listened to my nonsense and laughed amusedly. "Why are you here?"

The underlying message in that question is, "Why are you, the good kid, skipping?"

"...I just don't feel good. Anyways, earlier, you looked like you were going to tell me something. What is it?" I lowered my eyes and played on the fabric of the bed.

"Can you join me at the arcade, again?"

What a surprising question. I was expecting him to act like a big bully and force me to do his homework or something.

" Liu Jian, don't you have other friends to hang out with?" I asked skeptically. If memory serves me right, Liu Jian usually hangs out with the other troublemakers in the school. Those who skip class, smoke, and do drugs in the bathrooms.
