Fifth Harmony vs The Holy Trinity (DC3)

Chapter 14

A few weeks after the Grammy Awards, all of the former members were in Los Angeles, so they made plans to get together for dinner. When Lauren and Normani arrived together, Camila and Dinah were already sitting at a table deep in conversation. Normani and Lauren hugged and greeted Camila. Normani greeted Dinah, but Lauren and Dinah were still avoiding each other.

"I don't mean to be nosey, but is there something going on between Dinah and Lauren?" Camila asked. The two women didn't respond.

Normani sighed, "These two haven't been talking for months over an argument they had last summer. It's getting ridiculous."

Dinah retorted, "She told me to abort my child. What if she would have said something like that to you?"

"I apologized," added Lauren.

"And, I accepted, but I still want nothing to do with you. Since you didn't want my baby here, then you will have nothing to do with its life," exclaimed Dinah.

At this point, Ally had walked in to the restaurant and spotted her friends' table. She hugged and greeted all of them, but noticed the tension. "What's going on?"

Normani answered, "Lauren and Dinah are still being childish."

"Oh, that again?" Ally shook her head. "I thought you two had gotten past that."

Camila broke in, "If I can say something, it's that life is too short to be holding grudges over the little things. I've missed all of you so much. We missed so much of each other's lives. What if we hadn't made up at the Grammy Awards? I wouldn't have had the chance to be in Dinah's baby's life. We're sisters, and family sticks together no matter what. Dinah, do you really want your child to not get to know Lauren? She's been a major part of your life for the past five years."

Dinah let out a deep breath and sat in contemplation. Lauren reached across Normani to grab the hand Dinah had resting on the table. She had tears rolling down her eyes. "I know I hurt you. I didn't mean what I said. You know I love babies, and I want to be a part of your baby's life. Can you please just give our friendship another chance?"

Dinah looked to Ally for guidance, and Ally gave her a reassuring nod. With tears now rolling down her face, Dinah replied to Lauren, "Okay."

"Yes! Thank God!" Normani hollered. Everyone laughed.

"Now that we've gotten that out of the way," began Ally, "what have you been up to, Camila?"

"Epic dropped me," Camila responded. The other four women expressed their sympathies.

Camila assured them, "It's okay. Republic has expressed interest in signing me."

"This is actually good news. Republic will be better for you," said Lauren.

"Anything is better than Epic," added Dinah. They all laughed.

"Thanks guys. I almost forgot how great it was to have you around to talk to," Camila confessed. "I'm assuming LDN will be recording another album soon."

"That's the plan," Normani responded.

"What's next for you, Ally?" asked Camila.

Ally began, "Well.....I wasn't going to say anything until it was finalized, but I've been in talks with Sony to sign a deal." The ladies all gave their congratulations and Ally thanked them. "Maybe LDN and Camila could do a feature on my album," Ally suggested.

"That's a great idea," beamed Normani. "Don't you all agree?" The others nodded their heads in agreement.

Dinah cheered clapping her hands, "We can all sing on each other's albums."

"I'm down," said Lauren.

"I'm down too," said Camila.

Ally jumped up and down in her seat with joy. "Maybe Fifth Harmony could temporarily get back together for a Christmas album."

"Yes!" Normani praised.

Lauren interrupted the little celebration that was going on between her two holiday-obsessed friends, "Whoa! Let's just take this one step at a time. I'm not even sure I can stomach a Christmas album."

Normani nudged Lauren playfully, "We'll get you to change your mind."

"Good luck with that," Lauren teased.

Dinah held up her glass of water, "To the future." They all clinked glasses and said in unison, "To the future."
