"Foolish king, sacrificing so much of your own aura to save a beast like that!" David roared."Your altruism is your weakness and it will lead to your downfall."

Charles faced David after transferring enough aura to Alex to ensure his survival.

" You will be the one to fall David."He said solemnly."A mighty warrior you are, tested in the battlefield and skilled in the art of war and yet you have no idea of the bond between true soldiers.The willingness to die for those who fight with you.You don't undetstand the concept of sacrifice.You care for nothing but yourself and your goals.You disrecard and use your people as your tools.Pawns to be played with and disposed of when not needed.Perhaps that's why your warlords rebel against you so often."

David sneered at the comment."Spades isn't like Hearts where worthiness or not counts.The only thing that counts is power.My warlords respect my power and fear me.And if they don't I make them an example to others.Corpse impaled on spears declaring my sovereignty.I'm the undisputable king.And one day I will make Spades along with all the other kingdoms bow to my rule.But for now I'll start with you." He declared before rushing in to attack with a barrage of multiple aura(ki) spears.

Charles readied his sword and slashed in precise arcs cutting the spears at the shafts.He knew the points were lethal but the shafts were relatively frail.If he kept detaching the spearheads before they get too close he could keep David at bay.

"Smart quick moves Charles" said David annoyed as more and more of his spears got sliced before they hit."Nothing like the mindless hits of that beast the Clubs call king.But how long can you last like this."he taunted.
Charles was quick but there is no way he can block all his spears.For one David's spears moved at high speed.Secondly Charles can only target their shafts once they were in his katana's range.And finally if the spears get too close maneuvering his sword to cut them will be nearly impossible.Soon enough he started dodging some of the projectiles instead.Perfect thought David he had a little surprise hidden in his next volley.

Charles kept moving his sword dexterously, slashing and spining it to cut off the volley of spears.Spearheads dropped to the ground and dissipated along with the shafts.He couldn't help but be encouraged by that.He knew materializing aura into weapons was more tiring than energizing normal weapons to fight with them.David was investing more on this attack than him.The longer this kept on the better for him.Still David new this and kept on with the volley.What was he planing?Soon Charles started doging spears that got to close and kept on doing it for some time.The spears came faster.Again Charles dodged.But this time as the spear flew past his arm another spear grew from the shaft like a branch and stabbed his left arm piercing through his aura shield like paper.A trick spear.David must have set it up to do that before firing.

Charles held back the pain as he arced the sword to block the continuing volley of the spears.Suddenly David appeared to his right a bigger spear in hand.So the volley was a distraction afterall for this ambush.Trick spears sprouting from his left.More coming from his front.David rushing him from the right and he couldn't move back without worrying about the projectiles.He He had half a second before David dug his spear into his side.
Half a second was all he needed.
With unbelievable speed he arced his katana to slash of the rest of the projectiles from right to left before dooing a full circle to slice of David's spear and counterattack with arc of light that send David skidding back.Charles wasn't going down easily.
Not by a longshot.

David could hardly believe it.Not many could find their way out of this strategy.He had used it to end lots of the warlords who depended on speed.But what Charles had was simply as phenomenal as it was unbelievable.He not only managed to survive but he had made a counter attack without moving from his spot with a spear in his arm all the while.David grimaced as Charles took out the spear and tossed it aside.This wouldn't be as easy as he thought but still a move like that must have worn him out a bit.After all he just transfered a huge portion of his aura to heal Alex.If he kept wearing him out bit by bit he will fall soon.
