I groan as the ladies continue to dig around my closet for something to wear. I don't know how they got here, but they probably insisted that they help me pick my outfit for Bullet and my first date.
"Girl! You have so much cute stuff in here!"
"Thank you, Beatrice. Bullet bought most of it for me."
They turn their heads and wiggle their eyebrows at me.
"Oh, la la. Getting special treatment alreeeadddyyyy," Dakota exclaims in a sing-songy voice.
"Does that mean something?"
"Piper, he likes you. Bullet doesn't mess around when it comes to girls, so if he's buying you stuff, that's a clear sign he wants something more than just being friends. I mean, I have never seen him with another girl romantically, ever. Reaper was talking to me earlier and told me that he hasn't seen Bullet with a girl more than one time either, I asked, and you know my husband, he doesn't lie to me ever."
"Oh, I didn't know he was that picky."
"You kinda the only one who put up with enough of his bullshit to get to the good part."
"The good part?"
"Yeah, getting spoiled, bitccchhheeessss!"
"Dakota, why do you do that? You could just say bitches. Why drag it out?"
"Beeeccaauuuuseee iiiitttt'ssss fffuuuunnn, Peeerrrrssseeepphhhooonnneeee."
"That was literally the longest sentence of my entire life. Just shut the fuck up."
"You bitches are gonna miss me when Poison and I go on our honeymoon."
Fiona throws her hands up in the air and throws one of my sweaters down on the bed in frustration.
"Explain to me why Poison didn't take you on your honeymoon after your wedding."
"Because I've only seen the cabin in the summer and not the wintertime. He wants me to see the snow. We can snuggle and keep each other warm in a variety of ways. Plus, he'll hopefully be chopping wood and shit, I wanna fucking see that."
I like hanging out with these girls a lot. Being part of the group is so easy because there's no drama. They don't feel bad about anything. No one ever feels left out if they can't make something because of their kids or husbands or other plans. It's the most fun and chill girl group that I've ever been a part of. They are awesome. Everything moment with them is a joy.
"So, Piper, here's what we have come up with outfit-wise. Are you ready?"
"Sure."
Slowly, they each hold up a piece of clothing one by one and show me the outfit. It's adorable. I will be wearing it. It begins with high-waisted light blue jeans. Next is a black, silky tank top shirt that is supposed to be tucked into the jeans, of course.
A white, cropped, and long sleeve cardigan to keep me warm but not too warm to allow Bullet to put his cut on me when I get cold 'cause I will (their words, not mine). A simple black handbag and my black 1460 Doc Martens.
For makeup, it's being kept natural, with just foundation, lip gloss, and mascara which I greatly appreciate. I'm not super into makeup myself. My hair is a single, loose braid that still allows some of my baby hairs to come out and not look like a mess. Whatever that means.
They are all more entertained and joyous about style than I am.
"Oh my god, he's gonna have a fucking heart attack!"
