3. A beer and a mustache

After we left 30 Rock we got two cabs and went to Pebble's, which was close enough so we could walk but far enough that we couldn't, since Aidy and Kate were wearing heels and after a day in the office we were all pretty tired.

«Melissa couldn't come cause she has the flu, and Heidi's got other things to attend to – a date –, but guess who I invited» Kate exclaimed, excited.
«Who?»
«Our fellow colleagues and best of friends Vanessa Bayer and Leslie Jones! They're on their way.»

I smiled, remembering the years when they were both on the show with us. No worries, no sadness, and the thought was quite bittersweet, and even though Leslie had just left the season before, it seemed like it had been ages since I had last seen her.

We got out of the cab, walked in the bar and sat down at our table, where Leslie was waiting for us.

Immediately someone recognized us, probably because of Leslie or Kate, but nobody bothered to come ask anything. Again, Leslie was probably scaring off everyone who tried, eyeing at everyone in the room to not say a word to me. Kate had probably told her about Mike, and she was just looking out for me.

«Can I get you a drink?» the waiter asked.
«I'll have a Martini» Aidy said.

Leslie got along with that, Kate ordered a double whiskey, and I just ordered a beer.

«A beer? Come on, this is supposed to be fun» Leslie protested. «I did not reschedule some Netflix and chill to see you drinking a beer.»
«I just wanna start off slowly, alright? I haven't drunk in a while.»

We ordered some food to share and saw Vanessa walk towards us with a big smile on her face.

«Hello there!» she said, hugging all of us individually. «Could I get a Margarita?»

The waiter added that to his notepad and then walked away.

We ate, we drank, and we talked all night. Vanessa told us what she was doing at the moment, Leslie told us how she just had found the perfect apartment to move into, and Aidy told us how she was thinking about going on a long vacation with Conner after the season ended.

«Cec, what have you been up to?» Vanessa asked me, seeing me rather quiet.
«Nothing much, really. Just working.»
«The bitch is thinking about leaving us after this season» Kate revealed, touching my elbow.

I gave her a warning look, but I then realized that Vanessa and Leslie weren't even cast members anymore and the only one who might have not known was Aidy, so I stopped worrying.

«What? Why?» Vanessa exclaimed immediately. «Why would you even think that?»
«I don't think I'm doing the best I can, so I don't think I should work here anymore. Also, I've been here for so long, I think it's only fair if I go.»
«That's bullshit» Leslie commented, sipping a little bit of her cocktail.
«Why is this bullshit? It's legitimately how I feel» I shrugged my shoulders, with nonchalance.
«Well, it's stupid, cause you're really talented and one of the best cast members to ever have been on SNL, so please just think about what you're doing» Aidy took on the conversation.
«I haven't decided yet, so please don't worry.»

The conversation around me became muffled, as I started thinking about something else.

«That guy is totally checking you out» Aidy said to me, waking me up from my thoughts.
«Who?»
«At the counter, the one with the mustache. You should go talk to him!»
«Maybe later, this was supposed to be girls' night, right?»

I ordered an Espresso Martini, finally, and tried to shake off the thought of the guy that was staring me by ordering another cocktail after that.

«It's been thirty minutes and he hasn't taken his eyes off of you, you should really talk to him» Kate whispered in my ear.
