Despite being petrified upon exposure, it only took about a month for everyone to warm up to the EXEs. At first, they would get scared whenever an EXE would just turn the corner, since I gave in to their pleads to stay with me, but things got better. Besides their normal "exe behavior," my friends seemed to warm up to the EXEs pretty well.
"Pass the milk please?" Sunky asked.
"Sure thing." Tails responded, sliding the carton down the table.
"Why do you drink plain milk?" Soul Knuckles asked, staring at Tails' cup.
"Because it's good?" Tails responded hesitantly.
"Just asking." Soul Knuckles shrugged.
"Well now I know why." Cream commented, taking a sip of Tails' milk.
"Aww, romance is adorable!" Majin cooed, glancing at me. I groaned.
"Whatever." I mumbled, biting into my bagel.
"Did you put cream cheese on that?" Tails Doll asked. I shook my head no.
"Weirdo." Shadow and Fleetway simultaneously spoke.
"Copy-hogs." I snapped back. I swear I thought I heard Blaze giggle at that remark.
A knock at the door startled everyone. Again, I volunteered to check who it was.
"Hey Sonic!" Sticks greeted.
"Hey Sticks!" Everyone greeted back.
"How nice of you to visit." I added.
"Yeah, but I found this little guy outside your door. He was just standing... I started to wonder if the government was onto us or not." She motioned down, so I looked down.
"HIYA XENO!!!" Sanic yelped.
"Hey Sanic..." I sighed, letting the two in. Sanic zoomed across the first floor, and stopped by Tails Doll. Sticks stood frozen, dumbfounded by the EXEs.
"Oh, she doesn't know..." Amy commented.
So we sat Sticks down and explained everything. Again, I had to transform into phase Xenophanes, and again Majin commented on Blaze, making the same trio die of laughter. Sticks quickly got used to it, and even grew sort of attached to Sunky.
"You're so cute!" Sticks squeezed Sunky, making him spit milk out from his mouth.
"Yeah... Now let go! I'm eating cereal!!" Sunky squealed. Majin chuckled at the pair.
"So Xeno?" Sanic ran up to me as I took my last bite of bagel.
"Yeah?" I acknowledged.
"Watcha gonna do about Fatal Error?"
I spat out my bagel, coughing a bit, which startled everyone.
"Fatal Error?!" I yelped.
"You didn't know...?" Sanic asked.
"Um no? You knew I've been up here, right?"
Sanic shook his head no, making me bang my fists on the table, actually scaring a few people.
"What's wrong Sonic?" Tails asked.
"Nothing's wrong Tails, because that bitch is gonna die very soon..."
