My Secret

Cereal Alert

Ever since I confessed to Tails and Knuckles, they've been struggling to keep my secret in. Already, not even a full week, and I've had to change the subject dozens of times for them. At least no one is suspicious. I don't think...

Today is Sunday, which is always chill in the house of "The Sonic Gang." I got myself situated for the day before making my way downstairs to see what was going on.

Tails and Cream were setting up nine bowls of cereal, one for each resident, or friend. Both.

"You know my preference Tails." I said casually. Tails acknowledged me with a shake of the box of my signature cereal. Only Knuckles and Blaze enjoy Cocoa Puffs as much as I do. As I sat at my usual seat in the center of the rectangular table, Tails and Cream served the bowls. Tails sat to my right, and Silver soon joined us, sitting on my left. Blaze sat across from me, and Cream sat across from Tails. Knuckles and Rouge sat across from each other, on the edges of the table. Shadow and Amy took whatever seats were leftover. Amy said a lengthy speech, that I personally didn't need, and then we dug in. I finished second, with Silver somehow being extremely hungry.

"That cereal was good!" I thanked Tails. He nodded in acknowledgement. Blaze made quick eye contact with me before returning to her bowl.

A knock on the door snapped everything out of any thoughts anyone was having. I voluntarily went to answer the door, when an unwanted guest surprised me.

"Sunky?!" I whisper-yelled, stepping outside and closing the door behind me.

"That's me!" He giggled.

"What're you doing here?!" I questioned in a low voice.

"You mentioned cereal, so I borrowed a yellow ring from Majin to come here." Sunky explained.

"You can't just come here uninvited..." I sighed. Sunky became sad from this statement.

"Why not Xeno?" Sunky whined.

"Because what if someone else answered the door, huh? Then I would've been screwed, and your cereal salary would've been cut in half!" I explained, very annoyed.

Sunky looked like he was about to cry. I honestly feel bad now, since he just wants fun and cereal. He isn't crazed like the others, but still. I can't risk it. Not yet.

"I'm sorry for getting so upset. I'll make it up to you. For now, just go back. Please?"

Sunky nodded slowly, wiping his tears as he walked back through the ring portal. It took a second for the portal to disappear. I rubbed my head a bit before walking back inside, only to find all eyes on me.

"Sonic, what was that all about?" Shadow questioned.

"What do you mean?" I stuttered.

"Xeno...?" Cream asked, slightly shaken by the sound of Xeno.

I took the quickest glance at Tails and Knuckles, and they both were getting more nervous by the second.

"Xeno? Nah, you probably just heard wrong. I said 'hey no.' I was catching up with an old friend who stopped by." I lied. Thankfully they bought it, but I knew some of them were still suspicious of me.
