Elio has been able to remain surprisingly calm these past few days, considering the three men he has let into his home. He knows Igor and Viktor hurt her when she was younger, but he doesn't know to what extent.

And as for Vincent, the guy was a mystery. Selenia hasn't said a single thing about her past with him, but Elio has a feeling. The curiosity and jealousy are eating him alive, festering inside of him. Waiting to explode.

He wants to explode. He wanted to hit something, kill someone. He imagined beating the shit out of all three of the men, multiple times.

Elio doesn't know what has gotten into him. Sure he sometimes loved hitting and killing people, really fucked up people who have done awful things.

But Elio had always had a calm demeanor and believed in word before war. But when it comes to her. To Selenia, he can't contain it.

The thought of someone hurting her, touching her, fucking her. Hell even looking at her had his blood boiling.

He wanted to lock her in his room all for himself. 'Fuck I'm going crazy' the thought to himself.

He needs to confront Selenia about her relations with the men. He's dying to know, and it's also a security threat to his Mafia.

Elio roamed the grounds trying to find his nymph, he almost called a whole ass search party until he saw her long black hair blowing in the wind through a window.

He stepped out on the balcony/walkway. He admired her from afar, she looked so peaceful standing there.

It was true, she had a resting bitch face, eyes that pierce your soul, lips that frown at anyone's presence. But right now, she looked soft. Angelic.

Elio loved her hard exterior. Her badass attitude. But he'd be lying if he said he didn't like seeing her vulnerable, open.

He knew it was something that didn't happen often, and he couldn't help but feel like he was blessed by the sight of those rare moments. Like finding a unicorn in a forest.

He walked closer and cleared his throat catching her attention. She turned and smiled at his presence.

Walking up to her he wrapped his hands around her small waist, resting his chin on her head-

"I need to ask you some things"

She only hummed in response. Elio hated to break her peace, especially with something he can only imagine as painful, her past.

"Vincent. Who is he to you?"

"My ex," she stated simply. It was his turn to hum.

"Explain. I want to know about it"

"There's nothing to tell. We dated a few years after I arrived at the Mafia. It lasted a couple of years, and then we broke up." She stated, void of emotion.

Elio knew she was stoning herself, detaching herself from her emotions. There was something else to the story, something that hurt her to the point that she didn't want to remember it.

"I know you aren't telling the full truth. What happened Selenia?" She turned around in his embrace and stared up at him.

Elio read many emotions in her eyes, which didn't show on her face. Anger, hurt, confusion, betrayal.

Selenia didn't want to tell him. She was hurt after what Vincent had done to her. She was also embarrassed that she was so weak around him, for him.

He's a big reason for her trust issues and the tall walls that wrap around her heart.

"He hurt me. He's just like my family. Though he didn't hurt me physically, I wish he had. It would have been less painful."

Elio struggled to keep his calm. Thinking of the small girl in front of him, hurt. Hurt over a pathetic man no less.

Selenia was trying not to cry, trying not to show weakness. When she was young she had such a hard time fitting into the world and understanding people's reactions to things. After she learned to read people, she thought she figured it all out. Until she met him.

Selenia thought that people were how they acted. That there was nothing more to a person's motives and actions than what they show the world. She was so wrong. She found out the hard way.

"They're all psychopaths," she whispered. "Literally."

He stared at her for a moment, trying to understand her meaning.

"People think I'm crazy" she laughed "They have no idea. See a sociopath, we can feel empathy and guilt, and we can form relationships. But psychopaths? They feel nothing, and can't form connections with others. They feel no empathy, no guilt. Nothing." She laughed again as if everything was one sick joke.

"Imagine growing up in a family of psychopaths, I guess the gene missed me. I finally escaped that hell, just to run into another. I thought he loved me, cared for me. He was my world, he saved me from them, from my demons. Only to break me even worst. It was all a lie, he pretend all those years. Every day, every night was a lie. Every word. How can someone do that?" she whispered the last part.

Elio was trying his best to understand the difference between the two mental illnesses. All he knew was that the woman in front of him, the one he was falling for, was hurt by them.

Elio vowed that the second he didn't need those men anymore, he'd give them something worst than death. Death is too easy of an escape from what they had done.

Elio leaned down and pressed his lips against Selenias, silently sealing the vow, the promise he made. She may not need it, but he'll be there to protect her. To hold her together while she's falling apart.

He'd be there for all of it. For her.

Kinda a filler, but we got a little necessary background out of the way. Also, I am not trying to demonize these mental health issues. We all struggle in different ways, and so do socio and psychopaths. Not all of them are bad or harmful.

Also massive side note:

I 110% based Selenia's family off of them
