School is strange, this town is strange and I don’t know if I should stay or go. I promised my parents that I would graduate college and get a job, that I would make a difference in my life. I just don’t know why I am here or what to do anymore.

Ash slowly opened her eyes as the sun shined through her open window that sat across her bed. She slowly yawned in exhaustion as she realized that someone was knocking at her door. Ash slowly got up from her bed and looked at her clock to see that it was twelve o’clock in the afternoon, for a short moment she sighed in relief as she remembered that it was a saturday.

“Well, thank god I can get some sleep today, these six hours of sleep are really getting to me.” Ash said to herself as she walked over to her wardrobe to pick out some clothes.

Ash quickly pulled out a pair of dark blue jean shorts and a black T-shirt with straps on it along with a towel. She then went down stairs to the front door and opened the door to see Jake standing in front of her door with his arms crossed over his chest.

Ash asked, “Hi… um can I help you?”

Jake replied, “You didn’t come to school today.”

Ash said in confusion, “Yea, it's a saturday. Wait, do you do school on Saturdays too?”

Jake sighed as he said, “Right, you humans have a different schedule than we do.”

“You and everyone else I have met seem to say you humans a lot, aren't you a human too?” Ash asked in confusion.

Jake went silent as he looked away from Ash with an unreadable expression on his face and Ash could not help but laugh at his expression.

Ash then said, “Here I thought you wouldn’t get embarrassed, I have to admit you look handsome when you get embarrassed.”

Jake quickly said in frustration, “I am not embarrassed.”

Ash smiled as she said, “Alright, if you say so. Would you like to come in, I was just going to take a quick shower.”

“I um, I can't come into a house unless I am invited.” Jake slowly said as he looked back at Ash.

Ash chuckled for a moment before she said, “I am inviting you into my house.”

Jake slowly walked into the house while Ash shut the door behind him and locked the two locks on the door in one swift notion.

Ash said as she walked over to the stairs, “Make yourself at home and I will be right back once I am finished with my shower. You can come up with an answer for why everyone needs to be invited in order to come in.”

She quickly disappeared up the stairs as she walked over to the bathroom and quickly went into the bathroom once she reached the door. Ash quickly placed her clothes and towel onto the closed toilet seat as she walked over to the shower. She quickly turned on the facet on and adjusted the water to the right temperature before turning the shower on while quickly hopping into the shower, she instantly closed the shower curtain at the same time. Ten minutes later, Ash finished up taking her shower and turned off the faucet while moving the shower curtain at the same time with a satisfied sigh.

Ash said as she grabbed her towel and wrapped the towel around her waist, “That really felt good.”

She quickly dried herself off with the towel and quickly put her clothes on as fast as she could. Once Ash was finished getting dressed, she slowly brushed her hair so she had no knots in her hair and she quickly put the brush down onto the sink once she was finished, she started to head back down stairs.

Ash asked in confusion as she noticed that Jake wasn’t where she had left him, “Jake?”

There was no reply but suddenly there was the sound of glass breaking in her kitchen and she quickly ran into her kitchen to see Jake on the ground as he held onto his stomach in pain.
