People say there are no monsters hiding in the dark, they say there is no such thing as demons or ghosts in this world and yet there are some that say they exist. My mother told me there are those that are blind to what is in front of their eyes unless they are shown the truth  and there are those that can see but refuse to believe in what they see in front of them in plain sight. I think my mother was right about all of that and more.

The next day Ash went to school with Jimmy by her side and she slowly went through her classes. Ash just finished her fifth class which was science and they were learning about the human brain.

Jimmy asked, “Hey are you coming?”

Ash sighed as she replied while she put her backpack onto her back, “Yeah I will meet you in calligraphy later. I want to ask Mis. Jane something.”

“Alright, I will see you then.” Jimmy said as he left the classroom.

Ash sighed as she walked over to the Mis. Jane silently as she watched her fill out some papers. Mis. Jane had pale white skin and blond hair as she wore a dark blue dress. Ash noticed that she had a locket on a golden chain around her neck and there was a small key that sat next to the locket.

Mis. Jane asked as she continued filling out papers, “Did you need something Ash?”

Ash replied, “I um… I wanted to ask you something.”

Mis. Jane quickly stopped filling the papers and put her pen down as she looked at Ash as she asked, “What is it you wanted to ask me?”

Ash inhaled deeply and exhaled as she replied, “I have been having nightmares in my sleep and it has been causing problems sleeping because of that. I was wondering if you might have any idea of how I could stop waking up in the middle of the night.”

“Hmm… can you tell me what you have been dreaming about?” Mis. Jane asked as she intertwined her fingers together and resting her chin on her intertwined fingers.

Ash quickly told Mis. Jane what she had been dreaming about since she had moved into Old mountain valley and waited for a response from Mis. Jane.

Mis. Jane slowly said, “You might be going through some repressed memories or something psychological.”

Ash asked, “Repressed memories?”

“Yeah but I can't be sure though Ash. I am not a doctor or anything like that but I can recommend some things that might help.” Mis. Jane replied.

Ash said, “I would like to hear them if that is alright, I haven't been sleeping well lately.”

Mis. Jane sighed as she said “Well, you can take vitamins or sleeping pills. That is an option or there is the option of exploring your dream and seeing what is being surprised.”

Ash smiled as she said as she walked out of the classroom, “Alright, thanks.”

There was a long moment of a sigh as Ash continued on with her day and at the end of the day she was walking home with Jimmy by her side.

Ash asked as they slowly walked along the sidewalk, “When you said you had to stay home so you could watch your little brother, was that true?”

There was a long moment of silence before Jimmy replied, “No, I do have a brother and he can’t control his half-blood abilities or his half-blood form.”

“Oh, so you stayed with him so he wouldn’t lose control.” Ash said as they reached the front door of her house.

Jimmy smiled as he said, “Exactly.”
