Chapter 19

Katerina didn't know what time it was. But it was already dark outside and she just woke up after falling asleep in tears. She was worried about her son dahil hindi niya alam kung paano siya makakalabas dito. And if she dies, her son would lose a mother and he would be exposed to this kind of life that she didn't want for him.

Naalimpungatan siya dahil sa ingay na nanggagaling sa labas.

At bigla na nga lamang pumasok doon ang isa sa mga bodyguards na nakita niya kanina na kasama ni Hannah.

"Where are you taking me?" she asked in panic ng makitang palapit sa kanya ang mga guards.

"Just come with us in peace." They blindfolded her and tied her hands. 

As instructed, she didn't fight or move. She didn't want to get hurt. At least, for the sake of her son. 

She was dragged out of the room and into the quiet hallway of the hotel. So she started screaming for help. 

But the guard holding her arm just laughed. "You see, Miss, this is an abandoned estate. No one can hear you." 

The other guard laughed louder than the first. "The only person getting out of this place alive is definitely not you." And the huge, burly man covered her mouth and nose with a handkerchief  that brought her to sleep.

"All my men are sent there for back-up, Pavel. You have nothing to worry about," Konstantin said over the phone that Pavel was clutching firmly.

He was on the way to the meetup location in a private plane, landing in a private island in the Philippines. The tarmac was specially designed for small planes as if this place was intended for the richest and most private people.

His hand was shaking with anger when he got off the plane and rode a rented SUV to bring him to the hidden location where Katerina was supposedly kept hostage.

Inside the SUV were two of his most trusted bodyguards.

"Sir, we are nearing the perimeter of the estate," one of the guards, driving the SUV mentioned.

"And our men?" Pavel asked.

"They're all secretly surrounding the area."

"Make sure we get out of this alive. Save Katerina in any way you can. I will deal with the kidnapper."

The place was extremely nice and picturesque. It looked like it used to be a private hotel with sprawling lawns and pools on the left side of the land. Tall trees lined up the driveway as they reached the building entrance, with a fountain and a grand double-door entrance.

"Sir, we are here."

Pavel only nodded. He went out of the car and was instantly greeted by around ten men in black. 

The one in front extended his hand and said, "The great son of the consigliere," he said and waited for Pavel to shake his hand.

But he was in no mood. He just stared at the stranger and said, "I have the money. Give me back Katerina. Or I will bomb this whole place down."

"I'm Sergio," and the man chuckled. "And no, you cannot bomb this place down until she's still in our care. Now, we need you to come with us. Alone."

Pavel was quiet for a moment and took the briefcase with money. "Alright, my bodyguards will stay outside."
