It's day 4. I don't know why I'm still counting the days, maybe I'm waiting for him to ask me to be official, but whatever, I'm going to keep counting anyways.

I woke up feeling better than ever. I just got a new job, I would be going in today, and Nina and Noah were happy for me. Now all I have to do is tell my parents.

I called, and it ringed, but eventually, no one picked it up. I checked the clock app on my phone and the only world time I had on there was Tokyo, 12:24 am. They go to bed at around 9 pm, so they are definitely not awake. I'll just wait until it's later in the day so I can call them.

I had to go in today at 1 pm to set up all my legal stuff and taxes, so I didn't wear anything too fancy.

For breakfast, I made myself mini pancakes, because I hate big pancakes. I haven't gotten any texts from Noah this morning and Nina was already out of the house, per usual. I'm not really sure what she does all day. She has work, yes, but she gets off at 4, yet, still comes home around 10. It's bizarre.

I spent the morning preparing to go in, even though it would take 20 minutes.

-

Two hours later, I finally get off. I sat in the office of Barnes and Noble filling out papers of expectations and shit as well as watching videos on where all the books are and how to give good recommendations to people.

I haven't read in 4 years, at least not a fiction book with an interesting plot. My parents always read to me as a kid though, especially when I was sad or in a bad mood. My dad would read to me the most. His voice was deep and smooth, and when he read to me, his voice was almost a whisper, and when he read, his words were never mumbled.

It put me to sleep in an instant.

When I get home, Nina was still not here, so I decided I would text Noah. I wanted to do something other than sit around on the couch and watch stupid TV shows.

He answered almost immediately, like he was waiting for me to text him.

I want to do something with you

let's go ice skating. I've been wanting to go

Indoors?

It's the only way darling

then that's perfect 🤍🤍

I'll be there in an hour

Talking to him felt like teenage me kicking my feet and stuffing my face in a pillow when I got flustered, and that wasn't even the worst of what he'd said to me.

I started getting dressed into something warmer immediately. I fixed my hair fast, then redid my makeup so I didn't look like I was sitting in an office chair for two hours watching a woman organize the non-fiction aisle.

This time I would pay, no arguments. He's treated me too much.

-

"Oh my god, hold onto me," He says as he grabs onto my arm.

"No! If you go down I'm going with you!"

We weren't even on the ice yet.

We were standing near the barrier looking down at the ice. I have only gone ice skating a few times, but according to him, he's only gone once when he was a kid.

"Okay I'm going to get on first, then you get on second."

Thankfully, the rink wasn't too crowded, just a few kids and parents, but nothing crazy.

I step on slowly, then freeze. I was acting way too confident for my level right now.

I lunge toward the fence, gripping onto it as Noah looks at me with a smile, "You aren't even good."

"At least I'm not freaking out."

He rolls his eyes then immediately steps onto the ice. It was as fast as a blink, and he was already down on his back.

He grunts, then his hand flies to the back of his head, "Fucking step."

"Oh my god did you hit your head?"

He sits up, "Yeah and it fucking hurt."

I wanted to laugh, but I couldn't, "Are you okay or do I need to get someone?"

"I'm fine. I'm not even bleeding so let's go."

He raises his hand, and I take it, but all I do is drag him forward.

He then switches onto his knees, grabbing my waist tightly before he pulls himself up.

"Okay, I'm back and ready to go."

I smile, "All good?"

"All good," He says confidently before the weight of his hands leaves my waist. Before I could pout, he held out his hand for me to take. Even though his hands were just on the ice, they were already warm again

"I don't know what I'm doing," I say as we glide across the ice at one mile per hour.

"I think you push," He says, "like this."

He moves his feet one after the other, eventually pulling me along. I just stood there, trailing behind him as he pulls me along the ice.

He slows down, and I drift by his side, "Now you do it."

"Oh, I can't do that," I laugh nervously.

"Sure you can. If I can do it, you can."

I groan in doubt, then start to move my feet, it didn't take long before I lost my balance and took both of us down.

And he still held onto my hand.

Now, since both of us were on the ice, it was harder to get up. Eventually, I had to let go of his hand to push myself up, but as soon as I got up, he grabbed my hand again.

He learned quickly and soon he was skating backward as I skated forwards. The smile on his face was huge as he realized he was getting better and better with every movement.

Soon, it was as if we were dancing across the ice. He twirled me around his body, keeping me close to catch me if I lost balance. I soon lost track of time, and lost track of everyone around us. It was like we were in our own little world, and nobody but us were here.

I was falling too quickly for this guy who worked at fucking Walmart.
