It's day 5. I wake up in the morning in his bed. He was still sleeping, and I was still contemplating whether or not I wake him up or not. He may feel offended that I leave him, but then again, I also told him I had work.

I decided on the latter thought, he knew I had places to be, books to organize, recommendations to give.

So I quietly and slowly got out of the bed, grabbing my clothes from the floor and quickly putting them on before walking out of his bedroom. The dogs were in the living room, but they were asleep.

Yet, when I got to the door, the cat came up to me for the first time like... ever.

She wrapped around my legs, rubbing against my calves as she purred.

I bend down, petting under her chin before officially leaving.

Fuck. He picked me up.

I call Nina, and she actually answers me this time.

"What's up?"

"Can you pick me up?"

"Oh Jesus, what happened?"

"Nothing. I just have work."

"Oh. Phew. Okay send me your location and I'll be there in a second."

"Okay."

I hang up, and send her my location over messages. I sit down on the porch after that, and I prayed Noah wouldn't wake up before then and come outside. I think I would die.

His house wasn't actually that far from mine surprisingly, so it only took Nina 20 minutes to get here. When we got back home, I immediately went to the shower. I needed to get all the sweat and sex off my body.

It was 11 when I finished, and I only had an hour to be ready and get there on time.

I did my makeup the fastest I've ever done it then got dressed. The only adequate shoes I had for the job were ugly black flats. So with those, I wore black jeans that didn't look too much like jeans, then a white flowy blouse that I tucked into the jeans.

I feel so professional already.

I got their 1 minute before the dot, not that they'd probably care if I was 1 minute over the dot either, but it's better to be early than late, even if it's by a minute.

When I went in, I was greeted by the manager, then she introduced me to the guy who would be training me.

-

"When's the last time you even read a book?"

"Probably back in high school."

He scoffs, laughing, then squats down so he could put books back in the bottom shelf.

My trainer was this guy named Joshua and as high school jock as he looked, he was so weird. He wore these really thick glasses and this black beanie with his hair sticking out from the sides, then he had this forearm tattoo on both his arms and rolled up sleeves.

Apparently, he read a book every fucking week. Clearly, I had standards to meet if this is the job I wanted. He was also younger than me, which was kind of embarrassing.

He was very talkative which I liked. Since I told him I didn't really read books, he dropped that and started asking other questions like what my favorite music genre was.

And, if a book a week wasn't enough of a hobby, he also plays guitar in a band with his friends. He even showed me a video of just the audio of him playing a song by Nirvana.
