Twelve

when she finished the drawing she sat it with her other ones that she needed to put up on the walls. she rushed to the door when the doorbell was rung, smiling when she saw emerson.

"hi, you seem happy." the light haired girl smiled. juniper nodded and pulled her inside.

"i finished the drawing." she smiled, walking back to her room and showed emerson. the drawing was just different little sketches in boxes, a colorful eye catching peace.

"should we put it up?" emerson asked while spinning around the room, looking at an empty wall above the desk. juniper nodded and grabbed the stack of canvases she'd been working on and placed them on her desk. she grabbed painters tape and laid all of the paintings face down, placing pieces of the tape on the back of the canvases. emerson began sticking them to the wall while juniper continued to put the tape on the back.

"this one is pretty." emerson smiled at a canvas of colorful flowers atop each other.

"thank you." june smiled, handing emerson another. in unison the girls phones went off. juniper stopped and got her phone while emerson finished sticking up the canvases.

"the guys are meeting at the mall, archi wants us to meet finley." she smiled to emerson.

"you wanna go?" she asked, to which juniper nodded. emerson finished putting up the canvases while juniper picked out an outfit. she got dressed while noticing the glances from emerson but for the most part ignored it.

"can you braid my hair again?" emerson asked, which made juniper smile.

"you want me to braid it?" she said excitedly. she knew emerson didn't like her hair styled so it was nice to see her wanting it styled.

"yes, please." juniper smiled and walked to the bathroom. emerson kneeled down in front of the sink and watched how juniper carefully braided her hair. when she finished she braided her own hair halfway back and put the rest into two pony tails, curling the bottom half of her hair as well as the pieces in the ponytail.

"you look pretty." emerson said while walking back into the bathroom, wrapping her arms around junes waist, kissing her neck softly.

"thank you." juniper giggled, holding emerson's arms softly. the two eventually made their way to the mall, finding their group relatively quickly. they saw archi and ollie, along with avery and another guy they'd never met. the group smiled when noticing emerson and juniper, waving them over.

"you guys finally decide to meet up again." emerson joked, letting her hand fall from junipers back. she knew juniper wasn't ready to come out to the group and she thought this was just a simple gesture.

"hi, i'm finley, you must be emerson." she reached forwards to shake his hand.

"mhm, nice to meet you." she smiled, resting her hand on junipers back to move her forwards.

"i'm juniper, or june." finley smiled, shaking her hand as well. after all the introductions they made their way to a few different stores around the mall. emerson and juniper walked together most of the time, juniper gently holding onto emerson's arm as they walked around.

"you okay?" emerson asked when noticing how quiet she went. juniper looked up with a smile and nodded.

"i'm fine." she reassured, hugging emerson's arm tighter. the light haired girl was surprised by this. june was afraid of weird looks from other people, but she didn't care right now, she just wanted to be close to emerson.

the group made their way into victoria's secret, well just ollie, avery, emerson and juniper. this was a little awkward, being that ollie and juniper were shopping with their new love interests, knowing the things they bought would be seen by the other.

"isn't this nice" emerson's said while gesturing to a baby pink satin robe. juniper smiled and nodded, looking through it for her size before slipping it into her bag. the dark haired girl noticed oliver glancing over at them every once in awhile, when their eyes meet he'd look away. she wondered if they felt the same about each other... jealous.

eventually they went to the food court like they always do, talking about new things they missed when they weren't meeting up. juniper rested her head on emerson's shoulder as she finished eating, letting her eyes fall closed with a satisfied sigh.

"are you okay?" emerson whispered softly.

"mhm." she smiled, looking up and softly kissed her chin. archi smiled while watching this, wiggling his eyebrows at emerson. the light haired girl rolled her eyes at the red head and leaned down to take a bite from her sandwich.

later emerson, juniper, archi and finley went back to emerson's house. ollie and avery had other plans so they decided to just watch movies at emerson's house. finn and june sat in the living room cuddled in some blankets while emerson and archi made some popcorn.

"so you and juniper." archi nudged emerson in her side.

"i don't even know.. i've got to catch you up." she sighed, pulling the second bag of popcorn from the microwave. she dumped it into a bowl and grabbed some drinks from the fridge.

"ollie wants to talk so he's coming over later." juniper said softly to emerson as she sat down. the dark haired girl nodded and sat the bowl and drinks on the coffee table.

"everything okay?" emerson asked while wrapping her arms around the girl.

"i think so." she shrugged softly, laying her head on emerson's shoulder. juniper snuggled into emerson's chest and started the movie they picked out. they watched about a movie and a half before juniper sat and a kissed emerson's cheek softly.

"i'll be right back, ollie's here." emerson smiled with a nod and watched juniper walk out of the door.

"are you two dating?" finley asked curiously. he figured they would have said they were together at some point during the day, but they didn't, and they kissed and were really close. so he question was just pure curiosity.

"uhm, not necessarily.. i think we both have some things to work on and figure out before getting together." he smiled.

"but you like her?" he continued, being nudged discreetly by archi.

"yeah, i like her a lot." emerson blushed and avoided the eyes of the other two boys. after about fifteen minutes juniper came back into the house, her head down and her arms crossed. she didn't return to emerson's side though, she rushed to the brunettes room instead. emerson and archi met each other's confused stare and archi nodded his head towards where juniper disappeared to.

"uhm, you guys can stay in the guest room if you want.. i'll be back." she stood and practically ran after juniper, finding the girl sat on the bed.

"are you okay?" emerson kneeled down in front of juniper, making their eyes meet.

"i think so?" her voice and face were very unsure.

"do you want to talk about it?" the light haired girl asked. juniper finally met emerson's eyes, seeing how genuinely worried she was.

"him and avery are together.. they met each other a few months ago and have been talking as friends every since." she muttered, laying her head on emerson's shoulder.

"and i told him about me, and us.. and he seems supportive, but i still feel really bad." emerson just hugged the girl, softly kissing her cheek.

"what.. did you say about us?" emerson asked cautiously. juniper took a deep breath before answering.

"that i like you a lot." she mumbled, staying shoved in emerson shoulder. the blush that fell over emersons face was unimaginable.

"oh." she said, feeling june tense up before pulling away.

"should i not have told him?" she asked with panic. emerson smiled and cupped the girls cheeks, pressing a soft kiss to her lips.

"no it's okay, and i'm proud of you for saying something." juniper let out a heavy sigh and fell back on the girls shoulder. they stayed like this for awhile before taking a shower and cuddling in bed. emerson held juniper tightly as she slept, kissing her forehead after awhile of admiring her beauty.
