Sixteen

after this night they went their separate ways again. juniper had to check on her house. if her brother was still home she'd be staying with emerson, but he had to go back to college so she had to keep up with the house now.

though emerson did promise to come over soon and they'd stay at junes house. emerson kept kona and would swap for sam when she went to junipers house. she packed a backpack for a few days and sat it in the car. archi was supposed to be coming over in a few but after he left she'd be heading to junipers house.

the door bell pulled her out of her daze, standing from the couch to open the door. the redhead had a small smile and in his hand was a bag with takeout boxes.

"why do you always bring me food?" emerson laughed softly, stepping aside to let archi walk in.

"found a good place, figured i should bring you some lunch." she smiled and leaned against the counter, archi smiling at the candle that was on the counter.

"what's this." he asked while un-bagging the food.

"oh, me and juniper went on a date.. made some candles." she smiled down at the candle remembering what happened that day.

"anything else happen?" archi teased, sliding one of the takeout dishes to emerson.

"well, she's officially my girlfriend." emerson shrugged as red swarmed her cheeks.

"oh, well that's good." archi smiled, taking a bite from the taco.

"yeah... but i think i might've said something i shouldn't have." she grumbled, picking at the rice.

"what'd you say." archi sighed, grabbing a soda from emerson's fridge.

"i don't know.. i just think the way i confessed could've been, better." archi shrugged.

"well, she's your girlfriend now isn't she?" emerson nodded.

"yeah." she muttered, jumping when archi's hand hit the table.

"then quit moping, and apologize if you think what you said was that bad." emerson smiled softly, taking a bite from the burrito.

"i guess you're right." she hummed.

"when am i not?" he smirked back at her.

"how's you and finney boy?" she asked, reaching for his drink.

"dude?" he grumbled, turning to get himself another drink.

"we're fine, not official yet but i feel like we're getting there." she smiled.

"so, you like him like him?" emerson asked while looking at her phone that buzzed with a notification.

"yeah, i like him a lot.. he just isn't ready so i don't want to rush him, you know." she nodded with a soft shrug

"yeah well... i think you two are cute." she closed her takeout dish and walked to get her phone.

"juniper?" archi asked, to which emerson nodded.

"yeah, she's just reminding me to bring kona." archi scoffed.

"who's kona? you name your dildos?" emerson laughed and shook her head.

"no dumbass, we got teddy bears yesterday and she named the one i have kona." she walked back to her seat with a scoff.

"why would i name my dildos?" she asked curiously.

"i dunno, juniper names everything and it's rubbing off on you s-"

"shut up." she interrupted, taking another bite from her burrito while laughing.

archi left around seven pm, and emerson left at the same time. she drove to get them some food before driving to junes house, kona placed in her lap.

"hi!" juniper smiled while walking out of the house, wrapping her arms around emerson.

"i've missed you." emerson said and pressed a kiss to her forehead, pulling away and handed juniper kona.

"she's so cute." she smiled while hugging the teddy bear to her chest. emerson slung the back pack over her shoulder and got their food and drinks from the passenger seat.

"you find us a good movie to watch?" juniper led the way into the house and into her room.

"well, not necessarily.. but i want to finish aladdin, we never finished it." the light haired girl smiled and placed their bags of food on the desk.

"i got you your chicken sandwich... but i got a different burger than normal, i want you to try it." june smiled and took the sandwich she was being handed.

"what is it?" emerson unwrapped the sandwich and pushed it to junes lips.

"bite... please." she said with a soft smile. the dark haired girl pulled her mouth away to examine the burger.

"what is it?" she asked again, gazing into the other eyes.

"just try it please? i'll tell you after." june reluctantly took a bite of the sandwich. emerson smiled and turned the sandwich to herself and took a bite.

"it's okay, but you know i don't like burgers." she smiled softly, looking into the bag for a straw.

"yeah well, worth a shot.. but it's a double patty with lettuce, tomato and crispy onions, bacon and their signature sauce." juniper sat back on the bed and tucked her drink between her legs, sitting her fries besides her.

"i think it'll be good with a chicken patty." emerson smiled at june and sat on the floor in front of her.

"maybe we'll try that one day." they ate together relatively quietly, catching each other up on what happened in the passed week.

"have you already taken a shower?" june asked, standing and putting her trash into the bag it came in.

"no, why?" juniper tugged off shirt. emerson blushed at the girls bare body.

"you can join me if you want." june smiled innocently and grabbed her towel from her door before walking to the bathroom. emerson was not gonna disagree and followed behind june, tossing her clothes into the hamper and climbed into the shower behind her. june smiled at the sight of the girl and softly tugged the pony tail holder from her hair.

"can i wash your hair?" juniper said while lightly ruffling the girls hair. emerson smiled and nodded leaning down a little bit so june didn't have to reach up so much.

after their thirty five minute shower they got out and got dressed in some pajamas, juniper taking one of emerson t-shirts because they were "comfier"

they did finish watching aladdin like juniper wanted them to. then they watched home, which was one of emerson's favorite movies.

"hey." she said softly, running her fingers through junipers hair. the dark haired girl smiled while looking up.

"the way i worded things the other night was, really bad.. i feel like i made it seem like you are using me, and i didn't mean it like that." junes hands held emerson's face.

"i know you didn't mean it like that... it's okay." the lack of a smile on emerson's face made her frown as well, pecking the girls lips a few times. emerson cracked a small smile which made june smile.

"i'm still so happy to be your girlfriend, emerson."

"i'm still surprised you said yes." emerson joked, hugging the girl closer to her body.
