then they were off to make candles, per junipers request. the candle making place was cozy, light colored splatters and patterned against white walls.

they sat patiently while listening to the instructor before they were able to break off into their own worlds. emerson liked warm scents whilst junipers liked fruitier scents, so they made candles they thought each other would like.

juniper colored the candle a light brown color and scented it with vanilla and maple. emerson on the other hand colored the candle a light redish orange color and scented it with pineapple and strawberry. this activity took them about an hour and a half before they were done.

"look it!" juniper smiled excitedly while rushing to where emerson sat.

"is this mine?" she smiled, which made juniper nod proudly.

"we've got to put labels on them." emerson said while standing, hiding the candle she made behind her back.

"i can't see it?" emerson smirked and shook her head.

"nope not yet.. it's not done." june smiled up at emerson and went to where their instructor was.

"do you want a printed label or do you just want a blank one?"

"just a blank one please." she sat on the chair in front of the instructor.

"can i lay it down?" the candle seemed cold and solid but she still felt the need to ask.

"yeah, the wax dries pretty quickly." he smiled while pulling the tray of labels onto the table. there was different color labels as well as different shapes and styles. however she just decided on a regular rectangular one and got a black marker. she decorated a boarder before noticing emerson sat besides her.

"can i see now? she asked while peaking over emerson's shoulder.

"no baby, it's for later." juniper sunk back into her seat with a deep blush swarming her cheeks, unable to stop her eyes from scanning the faces around her. she always thought she would get backlash or disgusted faces staring back at her, but really she was just too in her own mind. most people didn't even acknowledge their little kisses or pet names in public.

she went back to doing her label while emerson did who knows what, hiding it from juniper. she wanted to save it for their cuddles after dinner, which she had completely planned out.

they put their candles in some pretty cardboard boxes and emerson paid, leading them back out to the car. it was still a bit early for dinner so they went to target to just look around, and ended up with a basket of new outfits and some skin care.

"we should get going my love, i have something else planned." emerson placed her hand on junipers lower back and softly kissed her forehead.

"there's more?" juniper asked excitedly, pulling emerson arm from around her back and hugged it instead.

"yup, one more thing." emerson smiled while leading them to the checkout. she paid for their things as well as helped juniper into the car.

"one day i'm gonna pay for the date." june said as emerson climbed into the car with a chuckle.

"yeah.." she muttered.

"one day." the sarcastic tone made june groan and cross her arms. she drove them to the restaurant and juniper smiled. she heard about this place, it was a fancy restaurant with good food, from what she heard.

"you look excited." emerson chuckled and took junipers hand into hers, walking towards the restaurant.

dinner was great and they stayed there for about an hour or two, only leaving when juniper fell sleepy. the light harder girl drove them home and started her bath like she planned. they got in together and simply cuddled into each other's arms. juniper seemed to be nervous but was calmed by emerson's soft hold.

"you don't have to feel nervous, sweetheart." she said softly into the skin of junipers shoulder. the dark haired girl shrugged softly and lifted her head up.

"i know, it's just weird letting someone else see my body." emerson smiled softly and cupped the girls cheeks, pulling their lips together. june noticed the puzzled daze emerson was in and gently kissed her lips to pull her out of it.

"are you okay?" she asked, to which emerson gripped onto the others hips softly.

"no.. because i know this is all new to you, and i know you probably just want to experiment with someone you trust.. but god i've fallen so in love with you, juniper.. and i understand if you don't feel the same but i felt like you should know how i feel." june frowned softly and held emerson's face in her hands.

"i.. don't want to just experiment with you. " she muttered, climbing into emerson's lap more.

"i really like you, emerson... and i know i might make you feel like that sometimes, but i do like you.. and i want to be with you... if that's okay." emerson blushed at her foolishness and pulled june closer to her chest.

"well then, will you be my girlfriend?" she asked while softly rubbing junes back. the dark haired girl nodded before cuddling into emerson more. the smile on the girls faces were so sweet, their cheeks softly blushed with a nice red.

"you're heart is beating so fast." juniper chuckled lifting her head up to look at emerson. the blush on her cheeks made juniper smile.

"i was nervous." she chuckled back, resting her hands on junes lower back. juniper laid her head back down against emerson's shoulder.

"your candle smells nice." juniper smiled, running her hands through the light damp hair.

"well, it's your candle, i made it for you." juniper smiled and nuzzled into the warm embrace of the other.
