I couldn't have been asleep for more than five minutes before there was a light knock on the door, but anything could wake me up. I stood up and put my hair up and slid into the living room of the loft. I checked the time on my phone and it had been an hour since I got home from the hospital. I looked over to Derek's bed and Braedon wasn't there, she must have snuck out while I was sleeping. Derek was already at the door of the loft opening it up. I was at Derek's side by the time we realized who it was. Deputy Parrish, Scott, Lydia and Stiles were there and starring at us with hopeful eyes.
"Can we help you, deputy?" I asked, eyeing Scott.
"It's a personal matter." Stiles interjected and my eyes flew to his and I raised my eyebrows.
"Meaning?" I pressed.
Stiles and Parrish took turns telling the story of what happened to Parrish. He was burned alive, in his patrol car by his partner and yet he was still standing there with us. They also explained how Parrish came back to the police station an beat up his partner and accidently shot the Sheriff in the process. Derek and I must have thought the same thing because Derek took out his hands and examined them as I reached up and felt that his hair was still intact.
"He covered you in gasoline?" Derek asked. Deputy Parrish nodded.
"It's the hair and nails isn't it? The parts of the body that are essentially dead." Lydia began to explain.
"Well they should be gone." I said taking my hand away and observing his reaction to this situation, he felt severely out of place.
"I was set on fire." Deputy Parrish emphasized.
"All of me should be gone." He said, confused. I laughed bitterly.
"Not if you're like us." Scott piped up, smiling.
"Like you?" Parrish questioned, looking at Scott strangely.
"I don't think he's like us." Derek said, referring to him Scott and I.
"Why? Don't think I could survive being set on fire?" I piped up, raising my eyebrows at Derek.
"Want to test the theory?" Stiles offered.
"Hilarious, Stiles. Really funny." I deadpanned.
"What is he?" Lydia asked incuriously, starring at Parrish, as we all did, furrowing in confusion.
"I'm sorry, I have no idea." Derek apologized.
"But you knew about Jackson and Kira." Scott seemed confused, how could Derek not know? Well, Derek had limited knowledge.
"This is a little out of my experience. Though there might be something in the beistiary. Did you try Argent? Or Lexi has been around places..." Derek turned to me hopeful, as did everyone.
"I have a couple theories up here." I said, pointing to be own head. They all looked hopeful, but I wasn't some kind of all knowing god.
"But too many possibilities. We wouldn't be able to slim down the list based on my knowledge." I explained.
"Wait, hold on...I'm confused. What's a beistiary?" Parrish asked, looking at all of us. I stifled a giggle and he looked at me, a hint of a glare.
"Actually, that's not even my first question. Just tell me one thing, are all of you like Lydia?" Parrish asked aggravated that he didn't understand our world.
"Like...Lydia meaning?" I questioned, not sure if he meant supernatural or banshee. Lydia raised her eyebrows too, also confused by his question.
"Are you all psychic?" He asked.
