Her Past: 

Lexi was in school the day her family died in the fire. She was in elementary school at the time and her younger brother, Andrew, was not enrolled in school yet for he was too young. Andrew was only three years old and their mother, Ella, was a stay at home mom and their father, Zach, was getting ready for work. Most of her family resided in the one house, she close with all of her cousins and aunts and uncles. Later in the day, her cousin, Laura came to her school and picked her up and she also had Derek with her. Lexi thought that they were going to go shopping or out to eat since it wasn’t out of the ordinary that one of her cousins picked her up from school. When Laura was outside, there were police officers near Laura’s car and then Lexi became confused and looked to her big cousin Derek. Lexi now noticed that Derek had tears in his eyes and she became scared and nervous because Derek never cried. Derek looked away from his little cousin and then Lexi tugged on her other elder cousin, Laura’s sweater.

“Laura? What’s going on?” Lexi begged, tears beginning to brim in her eyes.

Lexi hated not understanding things, she knew she was young but she still wanted to know what was going on.
