Chapter 12

"Stay away from me" Coreen said, her voice filled with fear and is almost a whisper. She backed away from him.

"You. Are. Dead" He gritten his teeth. He was about to lunge on her but someone held him back.

"Damien! Don't! Run! I can't hold him much longer!" Jaime said, holdimg two of Damien's arms.

"Let me go! I have to tear this bitch in pieces!" Damien growled.

"Run goddamit!"

"I..."

"RUN!" Jaime yelled. Coreen rushed to the door and headed outside, she saw blood...and dead bodies while the other wolves fought with each other, biting, growling, and tearing off skin.

Coreen felt bile rise up to her throat at the sight but she managed to not vomit. She ran deep inside the forest, adrenaline rushing through her veins and her senses sharp. She looked around, watching out for rogues. Her legs are tired but she didn't want to stop running...She was afraid, vulnerable to whatever will show up in front of her. Tears brimmed in her eyes at the thought of her parents at Luke's camp...And Luke of course.

"I'm so sorry" Coreen panted before dropping on her knees, feeling guilty for leaving everyone she loved behind, "I'm such a coward, I'm so sorry" She let the tears fall out of her eyes.

A bunch of wolves showed up in front of her which made her scream and fall on her back. The wolves teeth were showing as they growled at her. She backed away from them.

"No, don't hurt me, please" She begged, her cheeks stained with tears,."Don't hurt me"

"What is going on here?" A man in a white jacket appeared. His hair is golden brown which tousled up. His expression was cold as he walked towards the wolves with two other wolves in human firm behind him.

"She is tresspassing our territory, Beta. She isn't from here" One of the wolves behind him said. Coreen watched as the Beta's eye colour shift into crystal...It was beautiful. He looked at her in the eye.

"What brings you here to my pack?" He asked.

"I...I didn't mean to tresspass. I was running away..." Coreen traited and looked down.

"Running away from what?" He asked taking a step forward, placing his hands behind him.

"Rogues" Coreen replied, "They're attacking the Hemmings' pack, I didn't know what to do"

"Why can't I access your mind? Do you have a shield..." He traited raising a brow.

"C--Coreen...And I suppose so" Coreen mumbled, her eyes still on the ground.

"Well, Coreen" The Beta said walking towards her, offering a hand to help her up, "My name is Steven Peazer. Welcome to the Evergreen pack"

"Peazer?" Coreen held his hand and he pulled her up to her feet.

"Yes, Peazer. Come follow me, you must've bern tired from running. You look oddly familiar"

"Know a person named Danielle Peazer?"

"Actually, she's my sister."
