I dragged my feet as I walked along the familiar hallway leading to the human’s room. My mind raced, frantically searching for a way I could escape without food being thrown at me. Nothing I tried ever worked. You’d think after these past few days I’d find something that would save me.

I let out a sigh and straightened my posture when the door came into view. Gentle muttering had come from guards sitting outside the door, but it had stopped as soon as they noticed me. We silently greeted each other, and one of them gave me a sympathetic look as I entered the room.

“Hello your highness,” A familiar voice called in a sing-song tone. The human was sitting on his bed with a wide grin stretched across his. I paused for a moment at the sight. A chill ran down my spine when my eyes met his. Over the past few days, he had slowly come to realize that he could mock me without getting in trouble.

The human laughed, “You’ve got no reason to be scared. I don't bite.” He got up and started walking toward me.

“You really don’t know when you should quit talking,” I said before Tubbo snatched the food and water from my hands. I was worried for a moment, but he just turned, walked back to his bed, and sat down.

“What is this stuff?” He asked as he opened the container.

“Does it matter? You’re just going waste it.” I sighed. He just shrugged before he started shovelling food into his mouth. I stared at him for a moment as I realized what he was doing. A smile spread across my face as a sigh escaped my mouth. I guess he isn’t trying to starve himself to death.

“How does it taste?”  I asked with a laugh.

“Like shit,” The human replied plainly before continuing to eat.

“Then why are you still eating?” I huffed.

He looked up at me for a moment, glaring at me before he finally spoke, “Do you come here just to torment me?” I let out a long sigh as soon as the ridiculous question touched my ears.

“No, of course not,” I groaned, “I made the mistake of doing something stupid a few hours before you fell through the portal, so now I’m stuck taking care of you as punishment.”

“Awe,” The human placed a hand on his chest, “I’m so sorry your highness. I couldn’t imagine what it’s like to be forced to stay somewhere you don’t want to.” He fell back onto the bed. “Oh, it must be horrific. The great prince has responsibilities for  the first time in their miserably easy life.” Tubbo’s tone grew angry before he finally sat back up.

“You’re lucky you know.” I hissed.

“Oh, and how’s that?” He laughed. “Is it because I’m blessed to be able to gaze upon your beauty?”

“Most people would be pretty happy if you were executed.

“Why!?” There was a slight pause after the question.

“You remind people of-” I was cut off.

“Hunters,” The human groaned, pinching the bridge of his nose. “Fucking wastes of air.” He let out a sigh and looked up at me. “Do people think I’m one of them?”

“You’re smarter than you look,” I mused. “I take it you’re not a hunter then.”

He shook his head, “Gods no. I’ve seen the damage they do to people and communities first hand.”

“Really?” I struggled to hide my surprise. “Do you mind if I ask how?”

“I do.” The human huffed before bringing his attention back to the food that still sat in his lap.

“Could you tell me anyway?” I asked. He only glared at me.

“No, why would I?” He scoffed.

“You might just gain my trust,” I cooed, taking a step forward. The human shrunk back so I didn’t move any closer. "That'd make you one step closer to being able to go home."

“Oh, like I trust you enough to believe that bullshit.” The human rolled his eyes.

“Why don’t you trust me?” I let out a small laugh.

“I don’t know,” He shrugged, “The whole keeping me here against my will thing, kind of gives off bad vibes.”

“That wasn’t my choice.”

“I don’t care, leave.”

“Well, is there anything I can do to gain your trust?” I asked, leaning forward slightly. Silence fell over us for a moment as the human thought of a response.

“I’d trust you more if you got me my knife back,” He finally said.

“I don’t think I can do that,” I laughed a nervous laugh as I took a step back.

“Then I guess I’ll never trust you,” The human shrugged before he started eating again. I paused for a moment, thinking of what to say next.

“Fine,” I let out a sigh as I turned toward the door. “I’ll see what I can do.”

“Goodbye, goat boy,” I hummed as I began walking away.

“I have a name you know,” He sighed.

“Don’t test your luck,” I laughed.

“Goodbye, prince,” Tubbo called.
