--past age 14--
Ever since then, Ayato and I have been very close friends. Though during this short time, I had some feelings for Ayato. But I wouldn't dare tell him. At least, not yet. Me and him would often spar together or go out on the streets of Inazuma, But today, father had to discuss some important matters with the Yashiro commissioner. So I went along with him that early morning to go and spar with Ayato. I walked side by side with my father.
"I'll be back to get you this evening, be sure to take some breaks between sparring together." your father said, and I nodded. I had to admit, Ayato was very talented at the art of the sword.
Due to your family only knowing the art of the polearm, you naturally weren't very experienced at using a sword, and were more skilled at using a polearm.
I looked at fathers silver badge on the right side of his chest.
"Perhaps I too could get one once I lead on the Suzuki commission." I thought to myself.
They were extremely rare to obtain. A rank one and two badge was given to her excellency's trusted loyal servants. As of now there was only a rank two subordinate to the shogun, so the rank one spot was still available for someone of the tri commission to obtain.
While I was lost in my thoughts, my father and I had arrived at the Kamisato estate doors."Rank 2 commissioner, Lady Tamayo. Lord Kamisato is waiting for you in his office." a Yashiro commission guard said,
"Y/n'' Ayato called out to me. in an exhausted tone of voice, he was dressed in his sparring attire, holding two wooden swords in his right hand. I went over to him with a soft smile,
"Well all leave you two be then." father says, as he leaves for Lord Kamisatos office.
"Ayato, it's been sometime since we've last seen each other." I said as I took one of the wooden swords,
"It has..my family, well my father he isn't doing very well at the moment." Ayato says in a lower voice, as if he was making sure others didn't hear him. I had a feeling I knew what was wrong already. I not too long ago overheard your father having a conversation with uncle and auntie back home.
"The kamisato clan is currently at a downward spiral.." your father said,
"Indeed they have..commissioner Kamisato looks much more thin and sickly lately.." your uncle replied in a low voice,
Poor Ayato must be going through some tough training too, he looked much more exhausted lately. I have also seen less of his mother, Kamisato Kayo, out in the streets of Inazuma city. it might have something to do with Lord Kamistos' declining health. I then went to Ayato and put a hand on his shoulder, startling him.
"Ayato, if you ever need anyone to speak your mind out. You are quite welcome to discuss such matters with me." I said in a sympathetic tone. Looking into his lavender colored eyes.
--Ayato's pov--
"Y/n, always quick to come and support me even if she gains nothing from it. But then again, she's always been like this even when we were young." I thought to myself,
"If you insist, let's talk in the Chinju forest about it." I said to her,
I walked alongside her, looking down at her pyro vision dangling on a rope. She received it not too long ago. Perhaps it has something to do with her determination to become commissioner in the future. Still I never understood why someone from a high class would care to spend their time with me.
The Suzuki commission is the 2nd highest in power within the tri commission, the Tenryou commission being number 1. But it could be because of close ties in work. Either way, her being my friend is a wonderful experience. For some reason, every time I see her come and talk to me, I feel something burning in my chest. Though, I'm still yet to figure out what this feeling is. Y/n and I sat together on a smooth rock facing the small river.
