✰————————————-✰I sighed as I could see Port Ormos in the distance.
"It's been a little over a year since I've been here..." I thought to myself,
Inazuma was in need of some items from the academia, I just would have figured there would be no complications preventing them from importing the goods to Inazuma. But alas I was here now.
Hopefully Ayato's shuumatuban can get to the bottom of figuring out who may have followed us on our date. But, perhaps being away from Inazuma will let me calm down over the situation...
I got off the boat and was brought with the many people and scholars roaming around the port. I remember back when I was studying here that many of my classmates would come and release some stress by coming here.
"Commissioner Tamayo," one of my retainers said as they quickly ran over to me, "will be back two days from now to come and take you back to Inazuma," he said as he went back onto the boat.
"Thank you," I replied before I suddenly heard a familiar voice.
"You're finally here." the voice said,
I turn to be brought with...Alhaitham?
"What on earth is he doing here? And most importantly, where is Sumeru's representative?" I thought to myself. "Why exactly are you here? Last time I checked, you're a scribe for the academia, not an official that deals with importing items to other nations" I replied to him.
He blankly stared at me before beginning to walk off. "Are you going to follow me or not? Otherwise this meeting would a short one..." he said,
Guess I dont have much of a choice...I sighed before going to catch up with Alhaitham.
I remember when I was studying at Sumeru academia, I would see Alhaitham around the academia. However it was very rarely as he would mainly study on his own in the comfort of his own home because it was simply, "much more effective then wasting my time"
"So, are you going to explain to me why you're exactly meeting with me and not Sumerus' representative?" I said, but He didn't reply to me. It must be those soundproof earpieces he has on...I lightly tapped on his shoulder before I finally was able to get his attention,
"What?" he replied as he stopped in his tracks,
"I was saying why you're here to meet with me and not Sumerus' representative." I said. Alhaitham simply shrugged before replying.
"I'm asking the same thing. Apparently he's out In fontaine dealing with some stuff." He replied, "Let's just get it done quick."
Alhaitham took me back to his house and we entered his office space. He began to make his way to his desk chair and I sat directly across from him. The place was dimly lit and his space had a few bookshelves filled with many books, some from Sumeru, and others from Liyue. I was even able to recognize a couple of books from Yae publishing house. Behind him mounted to the wall were a couple of his certificates that he received from the Academia.
"I never figured you would read novels from Inazuma." I said as I observed his bookshelf.
"Those aren't mine, those are my roomates Ka-"
"Alhaitham!" I looked behind me to see...Kevah? Slamming the door open as his face was filled with fury If I wasn't mistaken he was one of my upperclassmen at the academia...
"My roommate Kevah..." Alhaitham said as he finished his sentence. Kevah looked Infuriated at Alhaitham as he began to make his way over to him.
"You took both of the house keys again!?" he shouted, Alhaitham simply glared at him without saying a word before turning to me.
"Now...that paperwork. Do you have it?"
"Are you seriously ignoring me!?" he said as he tried waving his hand over Alhaithams face to get his attention.
"yea...I have it. Was this bad timing to start this meeting?" I said as I glanced over to Kaveh as he crossed his arms.
"Not at all. Just don't mind him. He has a short temper..."
"SHORT temper!?" Kevah replied, "YOU'RE the one always locking me out of the house!"
"Weren't you two friends just a year ago? What happened..." I asked while handing Alhaitham the paperwork.
The two of them both went silent before Kevah left the room without saying a word. Alhaitham pretended to not hear me and began to go through all of the paperwork.
"Sorry that may have been intrusive of me to ask you that..." I replied as I fiddled with my sleeve
"It's whatever." Alhaitham replied before opening his desk drawer. He pulled out a file and handed it to me, "This is what the people at the port gave me. I'm guessing it's from that representative, but you can take a look and confirm it."
I opened the file and quickly skimmed through it. Ever since Inazuma has opened back up to the public, the other nations seem to be hesitant in giving us anything. The paperwork was just to confirm that they could give us some items to insure they won't get into any trouble with the Tenryou and Kanjou commission.
I quickly signed my signature and handed it the paper as well as the file to Alhaitham. He signed the paper with absolutely no hesitation and he put the paper back into the file.
"It seems like we're done here. If you have any more questions, just go ask the one the advisors in Port Ormos. As for how long the items will take, you should expect them to arrive in Inazuma in 1-2 business days." Alhaitham said as he stood up.
"Thanks...also, if you don't mind being asked, why did you help sign these documents out of all people?"
"Well the acting representative in Sumeru was caught doing some illegal deals with Snezhnaya so they needed someone to fill the role. So they figured I would be good enough for the role as the Acting Grand Sage."
"Since when did you become the Acting grand sage?" I replied.
"Since the whole Sumeru catastrophe happend. I'm planning on stepping down from the position anyway, so I won't have to deal with stuff like this..."
"I see...well I should head off now, I need to deal with some other things" I replied before leaving his office.
