I was laying in my futon with the covers over my head. I wasn't in the mood to wake up today... As my morning was not going accordingly. I layed on my side and began to read one of Junko's romance novels that I stole from her room. I knew that I needed to begin my work at nine as general Kojou Sara asked to visit the Suzuki commission to discuss some important matters. However, I suddenly hear my door slide open Abruptly followed by...screaming?
"Y'N! Y/N!" It was Junko...she ran to me and began to shake me violently.
"What's going on?" I said in a concerned voice.
"Can you shut up for once, Junko!" I hear Kaitos' voice down the hall. I slowly lift the covers over my head and see Junko's face rage in anger. Oh no...here they both go...
"You little..." she began, as she quickly began to run down the hall to Katios office. It's probably best if I go and begin work so I don't get caught up in their nonsense...
I slowly got out of my futon and rolled it up thinking about yesterday. I feel like I'm beginning to get more and more comfortable around Ayato finally, though the date was really uncomfortable...am I just being paranoid? I could have sworn I felt eyes watching us yesterday...
I sighed before putting my futon away, it's best to not let it get to me, I have work I need to attend to...I stood and headed to my bathroom to get dressed to attend all my duties for the day. . . .
I sat down at my desk before looking at everything I needed to complete for the day. If I'm not mistaken General Sara should arrive soon. I heard my door slowly open to be brought with her. I stared at her as she sat down across from me before dumping a huge pile of documents on my desk.
"Commissioner Tamayo. All of these documents are to be completed and given to her excellency by the end of the day today." I quietly observed the absurd pile of work on my desk before giving her a snide look.
"With all due respect, this will at least take me two days-"
"I said by the end of today commissioner. She doesn't have time to wait until tomorrow. I understand you have an affair with Sir Kamisato, but that sort of nonsense shouldn't be done during your commissions work hours."
I sat at my desk frozen In shock processing what she just said, my calm expression slowly began to fury in rage.
"Excuse me, are you accusing me of having an affair with the Yashiro Commissioner!? And now slacking off on my commissions duties!?" I said as I raised my voice at her. I was never one to raise my voice at any of the members of the Tri commission. Their nonsense and outrageous comments wasn't something that upset me, but today was certainly not a day where I could tolerate it.
To my surprise Sara sat there in shock with her jaw dropped before taking half of the documents and storming out of my office. How does she know about Ayato and I? We never interacted with one another at any sort of meetings and gratherings we've attended, so what made her jump to such a conclusion?
A few seconds later I heard a clatter and Sara shouted outside. In curiosity I stood up from my desk and make my way outside and peered around the corner,
"Excuse me!" Sara yelled. A man knelt down and picked up the papers scattered on the floor, as he stood I got a better glimpse of him...Ayato?
"My apologies." Ayato said holding out the papers,
"I didn't need your help!" Sara yanked the papers as she stood up and rushed out, Ayato and I met eyes
"We need to talk" He said in a serious voice
The two of us sat down beside one another as I gave him a concerned look. Did I do something to him? Were the batch of decorations for the upcoming festival not of the top quality?
"Ayato...? Is something wrong for you to come to the estate without a warning?"
"The public found out somehow about our relationship Y/n. I'm not sure what the Tri Commission will think of all of this..." he said as he crossed his arms.
"Are you here to cut off our relationship now...? I understand if that's the case..." I said I looked down at my lap.
"Of course not," he began, as he lifted my chin to him, "I feared that you would end everything off."
"Who would have found out though...we were discrete with everything... The forest..." I said as I trailed off. Ayato tilted his head in confusion,
"You mean the date we had in the Chinju forest yesterday?" he asked. I nodded before telling him about everything. . . . "So, that's why you were acting odd yesterday. I figured it was I who had done something to make the date uncomfortable for you." Ayato said, I quickly shook my head in response.
"Of course not, in fact you made me feel a lot safer there despite how paranoid I was." I replied, Ayato let out a soft chuckle before a soft smile formed on his face.
"I'm glad I was able to make you feel like that my love." he said as he tucked a couple of strands of my hair behind my ear.
"What now Ayato, what should we do?" I said. Ayato crossed his arms and was silent for a moment before he replied.
"Due to the test of courage event occurring soon, I may not be able to treat this matter personally, so all have the shuumatsuban investigate the situation. I'll also have Thoma go and see how the public is taking the situation. As for the Tri commission...I'll deal with whatever comments come our way." he said reassuringly
"I see...I hope my father doesn't hear about this...who knows what he'll end up doing..." I said, Ayato chuckled before pulling me closer,
"I'm sure I'll be able to win his and your mothers approval." he said before he kissed me.
