✰ A meeting with the Yashiro commissioner ✰

It's been a couple of weeks since I've last spoken to Ayato at the banquet. I've still wondered if I was too harsh with what I said to him, perhaps he had a reason for why he never replied to any of my letters. News about me taking over for my father spread quickly amongst Narukami Island. So far, everything and work has been going smoothly for myself. Though I never expected today to go this interesting.

    I was fast asleep in my futon, dreaming about nonsense, as usual. When I felt a light tap on my shoulder, causing me to semi wake up.

    "Good morning, Lady Tamayo, breakfast as well as your schedule will be given to you at the dinner table. Oh, and I made sure to prepare you a bath this morning." I sat up straight, rubbing my eyes to see who It was. It was one of the maids who woke me up today.

    "Alright..i'll be out in a few minutes.." I said In a tired tone, she quickly nodded and left my room, quietly sliding my door closed. I slowly got myself up, and was about to head off and get dressed.

    As I made my way over to the dinner table, I found my brother, as well as Junko, eating their breakfast.

    "Good morning Y/n!" Junko said, as she poured me a cup of steaming tea. I took a seat next to her, -

    "Good morning Junko, good morning Shinso." I said,

    "Good morning. So, what do you have for work today?" Shinso said, as he stuffed himself with his bowl of rice.

    "Not sure, I haven't got my schedule yet." I said, taking a sip of my tea. Coincidentally, the maid that woke me up this morning returned, holding a clipboard to which I assumed had my schedule for today.

    "Lady Tamayo, I have your schedule for today. May I read it out to you?" she said, as I quickly nodded, taking another sip of my tea. "Today you have some documents to fill out, you have a meeting with the Tenryou Commision. You also need to meet with Madame Kojou Sara. And...oh yes! You have a meeting with the Yashiro commissioner.

I have to meet Ayato again. After that conversation we had at the banquet. I knew that at some point I would have to face him. But for some reason, I actually felt nervous this time to meet him.

"Oh.. the Yashiro commissioner you say.." I said, poking at my food. Shinso raised a brow at me. and Junko dramatically placed a hand on her forehead, closing her eyes.

"Oh my...you don't want to see Ayato anymore! After you too were inseparable when you were children!" she said, shaking me. I looked right at her with an unpleasant look across my face. Shinso gave Junko a glare, then looked at me.

"What's wrong with Ayato, he's a very kind hearted man." he said looking at me in confusion, "But then again, he's a very cunning man too..." he said under his breath.

"Cunning man you say." I said, crossing my arms.

"Well yeah, he's one you shouldn't mess with. They say, 'anyone who wishes to meet the man at the top, would be wise to first make sure. That they know exactly whose side they're on..'" he said. I'm not sure why, but I felt a shiver go up my spine when I heard him say that. but, I shouldn't be nervous. This was the job of becoming commissioner. You have to deal with political power struggles, as well as others trying to exploit you.

"You're not saying Ayato, Y/n closest childhood friend. Would try and exploit her out of all people. I mean, she's graduated at the top of her classes. And she knows a very good amount when it comes to Inazumas political system. If anything, he should be nervous. If he tries to do anything with Y/n, because she's gonna either way figure it out." Junko said to Shinso.
