A couple days later father left for Liyue Harbor to investigate the import issues. This was reliving to hear as it would give me some time to bring up my new relationship with Ayato to him. Ayato and I agree on keeping our relationship out of the public eye for now which made me less nervous to pursue my relationship with him. But once father returns, ill first need to bring the courage to tell him at some point...
I began to go through my paperwork for the day at my desk, My mind was concentrated profusely on the work before I suddenly heard my office door creak open,
"Y/n~ you busy?" the voice called, it was Junko.
"Sort of, but I don't mind." I replied.
Junko swiftly came and sat down giggling.
"So~ what happened on that date with Sir Kamisato you had a few days ago?"
"No-nothing. We just talked and ate.."
"Y/n you're terrible at lying" Junko said as she cut me off. She leaned closer to my desk with a smirk across her face. "Did he try anything~" she said before giggling. I felt my face turn red in that moment after remembering what happened yesterday,
"He might have kissed me..." I mumbled. The room fell silent before she let out a dramatic gasp.
"He is so bold! And on the first date!? Y/n I think you just struck gold." she exclaimed.
"Struck gold..."
"Yes!" she said before getting up to sit next to me,"not only is he young and tall but he's also rich!" she said,
"What's with you and someone's wealth?" I mumbled
"Money buys you happiness."
"Isn't it money does no-"
"Shh" she whispered as she placed her finger over my lips, "let me dream y/n..."
I looked down at all the work I needed to complete for the day. I need to finish all of this by 7. I also have Ayato coming over to discuss with me some items the Yashiro commission needs for this so-called 'test of courage' they will be hosting. Oh, and I have that meeting with her excellency at tenshukaku...
"So have you two made it official?" Junko said as she interrupted my thoughts.
"We'll talk later." I said as I gestured my hand to the door, "The commission's work won't get done on its own."
Junko sighed before getting up with a disappointed look, "you better." she said as she left my office. . . .
Some time had passed now as I began to swiftly make my workload smaller and smaller. I took a sip of my tea before looking at my clock. Ayato should be arriving any moment now...
My office door creaked open only to be brought with Ayato and his warm smile across his face.
"Y/n, it's lovely to see you. Tell me, how are you faring recently." he said before coming over to sit at my desk.
"I'm doing fine, It's just ...work has been busier since i've gotten that promotion." I said, It was a little awkward now with him since we were...together. But we both promised each other we won't let our feelings get in the way of our work.
Ayato and I talked about the plans for the upcoming festival the yashiro commission is hosting. The idea was to test one's courage in a game of 3 rounds, if you are able to make it through, the winners will receive a prize of the Grand Narukami Shrine. It was a strange yet interesting concept and sure sounded like something Ayato would pitch.
"Now that the work has been handled" Ayato began as he stood up, "shall we leave for our date now?"
"Date?" I replied. Date? Since when did I have a date planned with him?
"The one we planned when you came over to my estate," he replied. I remember now...I had that date with him in the Chinju forest. I can't believe that slipped out of my mind...
"Oh! Right. Just let me organize my paperwork for a moment. All see you outside." I said.
I met Ayato outside. He lent me his hand and we began to make our way into the chinju Forest. On the way there, Ayato began to tell me about the little place he had made for us, but wouldn't dare tell me about it as he wished for it to be a surprise.
"You're not even gonna tell me where in the Chinju forest we're going?"
"You'll see once we get there darling." he said. I felt my face turn red after he addressed me like that. Did he just call me darling? It's just a name Y/n calm down..
"Y-yea ok bro..?" I stuttered. Ayato quickly stops in his tracks without saying a word.
"Did you just call me bro...?" he said as he slowly turned to me. I felt my face turn even more red. Did I just address him as bro?! I can't believe my etiquette is deteriorating around him now! That was so inappropriate of me to address him like that!
"...Y/n are you alright? Your face seems to be rather red..." he asked me with a concerned look as he began to take off his coat. "Are you perhaps catching a cold." he said as he wrapped his coat around me. "Let me wrap my coat around you."
"N-no there's no need!" I said as I felt myself getting even more flustered. Ayato suddenly pulled me closer to him and placed his hand on my forehead,
"You seem to be burning up Y/n. Please, let me take you to the Kamisato estate." he pleaded.
"No Ayato! This is all because of you calling me darling!" I blurted. Ayato let out a soft chuckle before he kissed my forehead. As he kissed my forehead, I could have sworn I felt eyes on me, but perhaps it was just my imagination...
"Shall we continue on our date my love?" he teasingly said to me.
"We shall." I said as I quietly chuckled to myself.
Sorry I could not come up with a Good enough title for this chapter 😞 but Ive gotton More motivation to continue on with this book now :))
