Chapter 1

It's been a few weeks since this world went to shit. We found out my dad was dead. I'm heartbroken, scared and alone. He was my best friend, always there for a girly chat. He was the only one really there for me. My so called 'mother' was too busy, doing whatever she's does, to notice I miss him since he's been in that hospital and now he's dead. I've become the type of person he would hate the most...

My dad dying made me stronger but will I break down? I feel alone. I'm not complete anymore.

"Oi Kenzie wake up!"

I was woken by the annoying voice of Glenn. I turned over so my back was towards the noise.

"Ughh! Leave me alone and fuck off Glenn or I swear to God I'll kill you!"

I snapped at him

"Fine, guess you don't want to come on that run after all."

That's all I had to hear before I jump up to the floor knocking Glenn over in my way

"What is it with you people and personal space?"

I said as I helped him back to his feet

"Hey what's got you in such a hurry it's not that fun going on runs actually it's pretty shit if you ask me,"

He said rambling on,

"Is there a reason why you stopped me to tell me how shit the run is because shit or not we still have to go, so are you done rambling?"

He avoided eye contact with me and just shucked his head. I just ignored him and grabbed my crossbow and made my way out of the tent. I headed over to the group, we are set up by a big lake, right on top of some hill in the middle of nowhere it was quite nice here.

"Kenzie wait up!"

Great the annoying voice of my dad's best friend,

"What do you want Shane?"

I said, coming to a stop and turning to face him, as I turned to look at him he was just staring down at me

"I said what do you want Shane?"

He finally came out of his trance.

"Was just going to make sure you got everything for the run, you know your crossbow, knife, samurai sword"

He started rambling,

"What is it with you people and rambling!? I'm fine I have everything now just leave me the fuck alone!"

I stormed away from him and the rest of these annoying areoles.

"Hey T-Dog I'm going to the lake for a quick shower. Come get me when everyone is ready please darling."

Finishing that with a giggle, he just nodded and I nodded right back and made my way to the lake.

My mind started to drift off to my childhood, Rick isn't my actual blood he adopted me when I was 9 years old, him and Lori, my mum, tried to have a baby but she had a miscarriage so they adopted me and then they had my baby brother, Carl, who I love so much I would die for that little boy. My world before I even met the amazing couple, I was the type of child that had parents that didn't want anything to do with her. Let's just say I had so many scars some you can see and many more you can't.

The sound of a twig snapping made my head turn around but only to see my best friend Amy.

"Hey bitch, what you doing following me out here?"

I said, she just stared at me with sad eyes and mumbled

"I know what you get like when you're on your own."

I just ignored her and carried on staring at the most gorgeous lake I've ever seen

"Are you going to join me?"

I said pointing to the lake

"Or are you going to stay here and keep looking at me like I'm a kitten stuck in a tree?"

She just laughed and started following me down to the lake, I started to take my clothes off apart from my underwear and bra. I dived into the lake, this is heaven it is amazing. After washing myself I made my way to my new set of clothes I had set neatly on a rock, just as I was about to put them on I heard T-Dog shout

"Yo Kenz we're ready to go"

I replied,

"Okay T I'm coming."

After putting my shoes on I made my way up the hill to the cars.

"So who else is going on the run then? We've got Glenn, Andrea, T-Dog, Morales, Jacqui and Merle. Anyone else?"

Shane said.

That made me get pissed off! He knew I was going he's just trying to be a 'Dad Figure' yeah right he's being an arsehole,

"Erm yeah I'm going!"

He looked like I'd just slapped him across the face,

"Kenzie I don't think it's a good idea, you're more of a help here"

Ughh! This is it! I'm so sick of him thinking he's the boss of me,

"Well that isn't your decision is it?!"

I said this in the bitchiest tone I could do.

"Okay if you want to go that bad then you can go"

He mutters in defeat.

"Thank you for the permission I never asked for."

I walked off, over to the cars while everyone carried on talking. After the conversation was over everyone started getting in their cars. Just as I was about to jump in T-Dog's truck Glenn beat me to it as I turned around an annoying voice called out of nowhere

"Hey SugarTits lets go I don't have all day"

Well my day just gets better and better. First I have to deal with one dick who's trying to be my dad and now I have to sit in a car with the dickhead Dixon I wish it was the other Dixon, he isn't so bad

"I'm coming arsewipe! Stop whining."
