Ruby Kurosawa is one of the main characters in ''Love Live! Sunshine!!'' and a supporting character in "Hybrid Precure: The Last Hope". She was a first-year student at Uranohoshi Girls' High School prior to its closure and is currently a third-year student at Numazu High School, being temporarily integrated at Seishin High School before the former's opening. Her image colour is pink.

Appearance: Ruby is short with a slim figure and semi-long Strawberry red hair which she ties into twintails and turquoise eyes.

Casually, she would wear a short, Bali Pink blue dress with flower decorations with a navy blue strap and a skirt with white polka dots underneath. She also wears peach lacy sandals.

In Chapter 24 of the Main Story, she wore pink flip-flops and a light pink dress with light cerulean blue straps and a waistband. On her left wrist, there was a light cerulean blue waistband that had a bow on top. Her hair was let down and some of it was braided to the sides, looking like an imaginary headset.

On Interlude (III) of the Main Story, she wears a white shirt that had pink and white ruffled sleeves and navy blue overalls which ended as a skirt and a ruffled pink sling bag. The shirt was tampered with her blood afterwards due to a stab wound on the chest.

As Cure Ruby, her hair became Taffy pink and
it grows to navel length. Her pigtails turn into large rings held by yellow ribbons that have a pale pink butterfly on the front and she gains pink butterfly earrings. She gains a white and fuchsia lined two-piece with matching gloves and socks with a pink vest worn over it. Ruffled, pale chiffon trim lines the skirt and sleeves, and on the chest is a pink butterfly with a green gem. She also gains fuchsia shorts and short boots with pink detail.

Personality
Ruby is very shy and timid, which makes it hard for her to get along with other people. She has a tendency to utter or scream "Pigii!!!" when she doesn't like something; in the event, she screams, her face will turn red as she does so.

She has never talked to any males besides her father before, so she has always been bad at dealing with the male gender. It wasn't after a tough challenge set by Ciel Kirahoshi, that she started to open up and had Taio Shirakawa as the first boy she is ok to talk with and later had feelings for.

Over time throughout her third year, she worked at Cafe Kizuna to practice interacting with both genders, and it wasn't long until she became comfortable with Nodoka Mizuki and Takeru Kiseki.

Although fearful and easily upset, she has a tough interior forged by her role as the daughter of a rich, well-known family. This interior sometimes becomes a vocal output when she is around the male gender to keep her sincerity in, like her older sister, Dia. Her growing relationship with Taio and her new role as a Pretty Cure made her rugged interior more and more obvious to others.

Ruby is very close to her friends, Hanamaru Kunikida, Leah Kizuno.Over time after her first meeting with Taio and the hybrid cures, she had been close friends with Hajime Shino, Kuro Kiryu and Subaru Akehoshi

From a different perspective, Ruby is adaptable and mostly admired by her friends, and they support her no matter what; despite the fact the Second Years are considered "the heart" of Aqours, Ruby does not have difficulty getting along with the rest of the group unlike her fellow First Years' or the Third Years'. Her catchphrase is "Ganbarubii!" (がんばルビィ！, lit. "Rubesty"), a portmanteau between "ganbaru" (頑張る, try with full effort) and her own name; she uses this phrase to encourage herself or others to do their very best.

Due to the strong bond, she shares with her sister Dia, Ruby will immediately display her rugged interior and defend her sister when a negative point of her is brought up. But after Uranohoshi's school closure and her interactions with Taio, she has crafted a self-defence system that shines a new light on even Dia's negative points if she wants to.

Ruby is also shown to have a playful and mischievous side of her when she teases Yoshiko Tsushima's Fallen Angel behaviour and her embarrassing moments (alongside Hanamaru), which annoys Yoshiko all the time.

Ruby's first name is after a red gemstone which is one of the most popular and durable traditional jewellery gems.

Ruby's last name means Black Marsh (黒澤)

-Like her sister Dia, the matriarchs in her family are named after gems

-She despises spicy food, evident when she eats a takoyaki filled with Tobasco sauce instead of octopus sauce.

-She has a good talent for needlework and outfit coordination, which makes her, alongside You Wanatabe, Aqours wardrobe supervisor.

-She is the second cure in this fanseries to inherit powers from a lead cure, preceding Nodoka.
