Our moment had to end, and the rest of the group caught up to us at the end of the canyon. Mitch told us we had to do another quick walk and swim across a river to get back to where the vans were parked.

We got out of the river and got ready for the walk, most people taking off their helmets, everyone talking in groups. Ollie and I chatted to Isaac for a bit, walking close to each other, grinning at each other when our hands touched as we walked.

We arrived at the river, and we went in together, swimming across then getting helped up by none other than Mitch to the riverbank. Which, obviously, the parents loved.

Back at the vans everyone got changed behind them or behind their towels, then piled into the vans ready to return and look at the pictures the instructors had taken as a group. Ollie and I sat next to each other again, and we let our knees touch again.

This time the drive was short, and we stopped at the canyoning place to look at the pictures together. While the pictures were being shown on a big tv, Ollie came and stood close to me. A bit too close, if you know what I mean.

Our arms were touching, and I reached out and grabbed his hand, holding it tight. I didn't let go until the photos stopped and Tim came up to talk to Ollie and he dropped my hand before his brother saw.

I understood, though, and went to talk to my mum for a bit. My mum had been one of the adults that'd stayed close to an instructor at all times and had hated the high up and caving bits. She'd also been one of the most reluctant to do the jump.

One of the adults purchased the photos and sent them to everyone, then we all piled back into the vans, Ollie still sat next to me. 'I'm going to go to sleep on the way back, okay?'

'As long as you put your seatbelt on, I don't want you getting hurt.'

'Okay,' he grinned at me and fastened his seatbelt. The van set off.

Ollie fell asleep in minutes. How, I didn't know, I can never fall asleep on moving transport, especially not just in the car. But he made sure our legs were slightly touching all the way until he fell asleep, and his head dropped forwards like a zombie.

I looked out the window most of the way until Tim noticed Ollie was asleep. 'Oh my god is he asleep!' Tim shouted, and everyone looked at Ollie, who was moving along with the van, every time we turned left, his head swinging into the aisle, every time he turned right, he swung towards me.

His dad, Dominic asked me if he'd got his seatbelt on. 'Don't worry, I made sure he did,' I replied as Isabelle pulled her phone out of her pocket. Then she began filming him, all of us laughing so loudly I was surprised he didn't wake up.

'Aww, poor Ollie, how cute!' Tim looked around the van. 'Is it bad that I really want to wake him up?'

'Do it!' yelled multiple people from around the van, including one of the adults in the front, Justin. Tim leaned around the edge of his seat and lightly tapped Ollie on the back. How a slight tap woke him up when all the noise didn't, I didn't know, but he slowly rubbed his eyes, Isabelle still filming, everyone laughing.

When he was fully awake and the laughter had died down, Isabelle showed him the video and the photo she took, then she sent them to the group chat.

A few minutes later, he caught me looking at him. 'What?'

'Nothing.' I grinned. He was so cute when he was asleep. He seriously was oblivious.

The last half an hour, everyone was laughing and chatting excitedly, planning to go on this big inflatable water park together after lunch. The inflatable was further down the beach from the breakfast hotel and included a really long swim to get there but was worth it for half an hour or an hour of cheap fun.
We arrived back at the holidays office at 2 o'clock, agreeing the meet up at half three after lunch, same place as last time.
