Robyn rescheduled her appointment from the following afternoon until Wednesday morning. She collected Jack from day care and arrived back at the apartment, throwing herself into feeding and bathing her son to avoid thinking about how awkward the next few days with Jeremy would be. When she was applying cream to the baby's skin and dressing him in one of his sleepsuits she found herself thinking how much she loved being a Mom, and how nice it would be to do this again. The pale blue sleepsuit was one Allie had brought her from Europe, slightly heavier, softer cotton and one of Robyn's favourites. She shook the thoughts away as she heard Jeremy coming in and picked Jack up to take him through to the kitchen. Jeremy approached cautiously, grateful the baby held his arms out and he could cuddle him for comfort. Robyn went to adjust the oven and said, "I've changed the appointment. It's Wednesday morning." He nodded, "Thanks, I appreciate you doing that and I'm sorry I said anything about Allie, that wasn't fair." His words softened Robyn slightly and she said, "It must have been the antibiotics. I'd forgotten they can interfere with the contraceptive pill." Jeremy gave a half smile, "I'm a doctor, I should have thought about it." She added a tray to the oven and grabbed a bottle for Jack, "Can we not talk about it for tonight? I don't want to argue and I'm tired. We can talk over the weekend, but I just want a night off. Jeremy nodded in relief, "Yeah, and Robyn, I will support you. I can't say I won't be sad if you go ahead because I will be, but I won't hold it against you or be angry with you I promise." Robyn gave him a slight smile but said quietly, "But deep down you will."

The next day things between them were a little easier and Robyn got to the office and threw herself into work. Around eleven she shifted on her chair not sure at first if she was imagining it. Within ten minutes she was sure, she had cramps in her lower back and pulling at her stomach down low. Trying not to panic she realised she could feel bleeding and grabbing her bag she got up to leave. When she'd gone to the bathroom Amanda turned to Carly and said, "Robyn's quiet isn't she." Carly shrugged, "Probably busy." Gratefully closing the stall door Robyn looked and there was fresh, vivid blood. She sat down letting it flow for a few minutes trying to process her complicated thoughts before pulling herself together and grabbing a pad from her bag. When she returned she dropped her bag at her desk and went straight to Allie's office and went in. Allie looked up and Robyn said flatly, "I'm bleeding, heavy. I've miscarried." She dropped onto one of the chairs and Allie came around the desk in concern, "Should I take you to the hospital?" Robyn shook her head, "No, I'm only like 6 weeks, no point, it's an early miscarriage. I just have regular period cramps. I don't think I should drive though so would you take me home?" Allie stroked her arm, "Of course. I'll grab my keys and go and get your bag."

As they drove through the city Robyn messaged Jeremy and he arrived at the apartment soon after they did. Touching Allie's shoulder he crossed to where Robyn was sitting on the couch and took her into his arms. Allie saw her flinch and Jeremy released her in response. Allie grabbed her keys ready to leave when Robyn looked up at her, eyes flashing with anger, "This is your fault. You made me tell him, and if you'd have just left it there would never have been a doctor's appointment, no need for an abortion, no problem between us, just a heavy period, no baby and no heartbreak. But no, Saint Allie had to make me tell my husband I planned on killing a baby. Feel good Allie?" Allie recoiled and whispered, "I'd better go, I'm really sorry Robyn." She moved as fast as possible to the door and a stunned Jeremy came out of his shocked stupor, "Robyn what the hell! It's not Allie's fault, why would you say that?" He sprinted to the door and ran after Allie. When he caught up with her she was crying and he stopped her and pulled her close and said, "God I'm so sorry Allie, I know she's upset but she shouldn't have said that, the only thing you've done is be a good friend. She's not thinking straight." Allie pulled away, "You need to go to Robyn. I'm fine honestly. I need to get back to the office. I'll just tell HR she's sick and you guys can call them if you want to tell them anything else." He nodded and kissed her cheek, "I'll call you." Jeremy made his way back to the apartment where he'd left the door ajar.
