Daniel held his wife around the waist and kissed her neck as she filled the kettle, making her smile. She flicked the switch and exhaled enjoying the view over the countryside from the kitchen window. Allie lifted the now boiling water and poured it onto the ground coffee in the cafetiere, turning when she heard Susan coming in from the hallway. Daniel grinned, "Hey morning Susan, you're up early." Susan inhaled deeply, "Morning you two, wow Allie that coffee smells so good. What time are you leaving?" Allie grabbed the mugs from the cupboard and smiled, "I'll head off as soon as I've had some caffeine. I had a look when I got up and the flight's on time." She pressed the plunger down slowly and poured the coffee, adding milk to hers. They moved to sit in the adjacent sun room, all savouring the fresh coffee in the weak light of the early morning. Susan relaxed back into the chair, "This view is amazing. I feel like I'm in a period drama being here." Allie laughed, "You've been lucky with the weather so far, but since it's forecast to rain for the next few days you're about to get the authentic British experience." Daniel grinned as Allie drained her cup and stood up saying, "Right, I'm going to head out." He got up to follow her out, "Want to grab something to eat?" Allie shook her head and kissed him, "No my lovely, too early. I'll get something when I get back."

Just under an hour later she was took up a space in the arrivals hall, and twisted to check the monitor which showed the flight from LA had landed at just after seven. Ten minutes later Jeremy spotted Allie, noticing her face light up as she moved towards where he would exit the barrier. As soon as he was in the open Allie squealed and reached to throw her arms around his neck. He let go of his bags to swing her off the ground, burying his face in the soft skin of her neck and breathing in the scent of her freshly washed hair. Putting her back on her feet and grabbing the handle of his case he grinned and kissed her cheek, "Am I glad to see you. That was one long flight!" Allie rubbed his back with the arm she still had looped around him and said sympathetically, "Let's grab a coffee to have on the journey, and then I'll get you to the house so you can relax." Jeremy smiled, "Sounds good. I can't wait to see this place of yours."

Driving out of the car park Jeremy shivered and Allie smirked, "Chilly here in March Jem. I've got the heater on so it'll soon warm up." She accelerated onto the motorway and he glanced at the space between their seats, "I had no idea you could drive a shift Allie." She smiled, "When I first moved to the US I insisted on having a gear stick, kept it until we had Rose. Used to drive Michael mad, he hated it." Jeremy laughed but his face softened at the mention of Michael as he glanced over. Grabbing his phone he unlocked the screen, "I'd better message Robyn, let her know I've arrived." As he typed he added, "I've promised to send her loads of photographs." Allie sighed, "I feel so bad she won't be with us you know." Jeremy pressed send and squeezed her free hand, "She's fine about it Allie, it just would have been so difficult with Jack." Allie smiled, "Oh I get it, it's hard enough with our two, the jet lag's a killer, especially in this direction."

Jeremy looked out of the side window as Allie moved into the outside lane to overtake the busy morning traffic, "Jeez Allie I don't know how the hell you switch to drive on the wrong side of the road." Allie feigned outrage, "And who says this is the wrong side?" Jeremy laughed as Allie lifted her coffee and grinned. Fifty minutes later they were driving through the village and Jeremy looked around with interest, "Wow, It's all so quaint and old!" Allie smiled as they drove into her road and she turned into the driveway saying, "Well, this is it. Brace yourself for an onslaught. Emmie and Rose are very excited you're coming. Daniel appeared at the door smiling broadly and the two little girls ran out as Jeremy got out of the car, both shrieking "Uncle Jemmy!" Emmie reached him first and he swung her up while Rose wrapped her arms around his legs yelling for attention. Kissing Emmie and putting her back on the ground he lifted Rose teasing her by saying, "Rosie! What are you doing here all the way in England?" Daniel had grabbed his bags from the car's trunk, put them in the house and then came back out to embrace Jeremy warmly, "Welcome to ye olde England Jem!" Allie rolled her eyes at her husband but she was laughing as she said, "Let poor Jeremy get inside, it's not exactly warm."
