Pic of Jaeger up top! And the amazing Aretha herself... Enjoy!
Jaeger's POV:
Now I know what all the fuss is about.
That was my first thought when West first started seeing Grace dance and socialize with the women and even some of the kids as the day wore on. She was beautiful, intelligent and as the name implied, graceful. She had a smile that brightened up the air around her and had others smiling back at her in return. Even though I likened her to a doll at first she was more like a ray of sunshine. Something that we sorely needed around the compound. Not that the female company wasn't all that bad most of the time. But their smiles were always coy, calculating. Their eyes had little brightness or even a hint of.... something in their gaze. With Grace however it was different. Even though her gaze had a vacancy to them, there was also that spark of life that begged to be brought out.
Despite her age Grace had a kind of innocence about her that drew those around to her like moths to a flame. It could be a dangerous thing. Especially to the moths who were drawn to said flame. Case in point, West stood on the fringe of the dance floor supposedly being subtle about watching Grace while talking with Bullet. He wasn't being all that subtle to me because every time I drag her to the dance floor or touch her he scowls. The temptation to kiss her and really piss him off was too much but I kept my lips to myself. Instead I leaned forward and murmured some nonsense in her ear that made her laugh out loud. Her sunglasses slipped down the bridge of her nose revealing her cornflower blue eyes. There was a sparkle in them that shone brightly in the sun. Her whole face lit up as she smiled at me causing me to be taken aback. This woman was without a doubt absolutely gorgeous. I can see why West fell so hard for her. She was absolutely amazing. She had several of the brothers eyeing her up and down which probably didn't help my friend's mood. A fact compounded when every time a brother would glance in her direction his grip tightened on the beer bottle he held in his hand.
I was just about to walk over to him when my phone chirped and vibrated. It only did this when a vechile tripped the sensor at the front gates. Taking out my phone I quickly checked it to see a familiar Corvette waiting at the gates. Pressing a button that allowed the gates to open I excused myself and walked to the front of the main building and waited patiently for him to pull up. "Drake, we wasn't aware that you'd be coming." When he stepped out of the Chevrolet and extended his hand I quickly shook it and lead him into the building. Drake Donovan had a devilish charm that had all the women throwing themselves at him. He was tall and lean and was always dressed to the nines in designer suits and Italian shoes. He had jet black hair and dark eyes that were almost black in certain lighting. While he was a pain in the ass, he had been instrumental in recovering Adria when she'd been snatched and almost sold into the sex trade. Had it not been for him we'd have lost her forever. Because he was such a big help Joker extended an invitation to come by any time he wanted much to Bullet's annoyance and dismay.
The two of them had never gotten along from the get go.
"Sorry to crash the party but Adria invited me claiming that there was someone that I simply had to meet." I had to force my jaw not to drop at his words. What was that woman up to now? Is she trying to cause trouble? With a silent groan I lead him to the back where the party and open the door just in time to nearly knock Adria off her feet. "Whoa easy there, Nightmare. What's the rush?" Once she was steadied she scowled at me briefly before it quickly turned into a smile when she noticed who was with me. "Drake! So happy that you were able to make it." Completely ignoring me, she reached out and grabbed him about the wrist and dragged him forward chatting with him while making a beeline straight to Grace. This isn't going to end well at all. Drake Donovan had a way with women that made a few of the brothers want to smash his teeth in on impulse. I heard a growl from the side and noticed that Bullet had caught sight of Drake and Adria as they wound their way through the crowd. Drake stopped a few times to shake hands with some of the other brothers.
