Chapter 5: Officially Friends

When Bennett reached the gates of Mondstadt, the first thing he saw was his dad and some knights, when they saw him, they ran in his direction:

-Where were you? Why did you come home so late? Did something happen?

The boy was already prepared for this, he laughed and calmed everyone down:

-Don't worry, I'm fine! I just got stuck in a cave and it took me some time to get out. Everything is fine now.

-We should get out of the rain, don't want you catching a cold.

His dad spoke a little bit to the knights and led him home. He took a bath and changed his wet clothes. He put his stuff by his bedside table and went to the living room, where his dad was waiting for him.

He gestured for him to sit down at the table, and Bennett did so. Receiving a plate of cold sweet madame in return:

-Thanks!

He said and munched down his dinner. His dad then sat down by his side and started a conversation:

-So. What did you do so much to come back this late at night?

His dad started. Ready to hear something like "oh, don't worry just a random earthquake happened and stuck me in this random cave, it just took me some time to get out! Just the typical stuff!" but what he heard instead was quite surprising, well at least for the "normals" he lived with:
-You see dad. I was getting some wolfhooks to give to Barbara when some hilichurls appeared. I fought them, and when they died it started to rain. I looked for a place to stay and found a cave. But lightning struck and made some rocks fall on the exit, so I got stuck. And then...

He paused:

-And then I met a boy.

-A boy? In the cave?

-Yeah! He seemed to be there before I got in and blocked the exit.

-What did he do?
-He helped me get out!

-I swear for the archons sa- wait... what?

His dad stared in awe. Typically, people would get mad at Bennett and blame him for bad situations. He lived like this, being blamed for everything bad that happened. The adventurer smiled:

-That's right! I made a friend! He even asked if I could come to hang out with him some other time!

-He did?

-Yeah! Oh, about that... can I get to meet with him another day? Please?

-Fine... just try not to get home so late next time, you don't want to eat cold food again.

-I'll do my best!

He finished his food silently, thinking about all the cool things he could do with Razor.

When he was done, he put his plate by the sink, said goodnight to his dad and went to bed. Laying down on his bed, it didn't take too much time until he slept. Dreaming of adventures he could have at Wolvendom together with his friend.

Hi everyone! Sorry for publishing this chapter late, I usually try to publish a chapter every Monday but due to some stuff that's been happening I couldn't publish it in time. Also, sorry if this chapter was a bit short (and kinda bad), I was having writer's block but put myself to publish it anyway, I hope you understand, and I promise the next chapter will be better.
