Chapter 28: Free Ride

Razor woke up inside a cage, his back was hurting from the position he had slept. He looked around him, it was dark but he didn't find that a problem. The boy's eyes landed on Bennett, sleeping in his cage. He put his arm out, trying to reach the other, but he was too far away. He called out for him, the adventurer's eyes opened slowly, he looked at him:

-Razor? Where are we? - he said, his voice was full of sleep - Why is it so dark?

The boy lit um a flame with his palm, he blinked a few times and looked around:

-She's still asleep? Amy!

The girl remained silent:

-How are we gonna get out of here?

-I don't know...

-Hmm... I tried burning the cage, why don't you try... hitting it with lightning or something?

The wolf boy nodded and got up, charging his left hand with electro using his vision, he hit the bars with the concentrated energy, but only managed to make the carriage shake a bit:

-Nice shot Ray. But still, it wasn't enough... What should we do...?

Then suddenly, the carriage shook again, this time harder, Razor tumbled in his cage and hit his head on one of the bars:

-Whoa! Calm down, you don't have to do it again!

-It was not me this time!

-Wha-

It trembled again, and again, each time harder, Bennett's flame had been put out, so they were in the dark, they heard a loud bang and realized the girl's head had hit bars of her cage, she woke up immediately:

-What 's happening?

-We don't know!

Then the carriage started to fall, the three of them screamed as they tried their best to hang on to their cages. Razor's leg got stuck outside of the cage somehow, a random box hit it and it started to bleed, he helplessly tried to get it back inside, but it started to hurt a lot. Amy bit her lip and it also bled, she also scratched her arm on an iron part of the car. But the worse on the situation was Bennett, he hit his head several times, a box full of ore had opened beside him and the rocks hit his legs making him fall, he lost strength in his arms after hanging on to his cage to hard, he let go, but only his his head again, making him pass out. The wolf boy shouted the other's name, catching the girl's attention, but then suddenly the carriage's "roof" opened, and they were met with the light of day, when they finally took consciousness of their situation.

The car was now floating on a river, it would be a rather peaceful sight if they weren't being dragged to a waterfall, thankfully the current wasn't that strong, and they had some time to think on what they would do next. They had to:

1. Get out of the cage

2. Wake up Bennett

3. Get out of the carriage

4. Heal their wounds (especially Bennett's)

5.Go to Liyue without any understanding of where they were

And all that before they reached the waterfall and hit their heads on the rocks and died. She looked around, trying to find anything that could help the three of them get out of this alive, and that's when her eyes landed on two boys. Both had blue hair, although one of them had a lighter shade of blue, they looked around the same age and it seemed like they were having a picnic. She immediately shouted for help, an act which caught the boys attention, both of them got up and acted pretty quickly. One gave the other a rope of some sort, who started to make an ice bridge to the carriage. Amy and Razor realized that both boys had visions. He tied the rope to the car and and threw the other end to the boy with the darker hair, who tied the rope to the tree that looked the sturdiest, he signaled to the other to start pulling and so he did, surprisingly, he was really strong, and although it took him some effort, the boy pulled the carriage with relative ease. When it reached the shore, he looked at the caged people and asked:

-Who are you?

-We're travelers from Mondstadt, we were trying to go to Liyue Harbour but got kidnapped by Fatui.

The boy looked to the other, looking for guidance, the stranger stepped forward, his golden eyes examining the carriage, the boxes, the cages and the trio:

-What happened to him? - He pointed at the white haired boy - He doesn't look so good:

-He hit his head several times as we fell in the river.

He climbed onto the carriage and looked at the other boy:

-Help me take these three out of their cages. We'll aid them in reaching their destination.

-O-okay.

The boy's looked for the keys to the cages in the boxes, which they found pretty quickly. They helped them out of the confinements, although Razor insisted on taking the passed out Bennett out of his, he had no strength to do so and ended up letting the boy with the cryo vision do it. The group sat down, and the boy with the hydro vision healed their wounds and woke the adventurer up. The one with the darker hair introduced himself as Xingqiu, he did most of the speaking, while the other, whose name was Chongyun, stayed quiet most of the time, they kind of reminded Amy of Razor and Bennett, one talked a lot, the other mostly listened, the difference was that the wolf boy didn't speak because he didn't really know how to, while the blue haired boy didn't speak because he was shy, or didn't know what to say.

The boys said that it was too late to reach Liyue in one trip, so they suggested that they sleep in Qingce Village, since it was nearby and they had a small house that they could stay at. The others agreed and walked their way to the town. When they reached the village, the blue haired boys dragged them to a little restaurant, they ordered some food that arrived surprisingly quickly, and they ate it while chatting about random topics that piqued their interest. When they finished, the group got up and started to follow Xingqiu and Chongyun to the house they were gonna stay in for the night. They reached the residence after a few minutes, the darker haired boy pulled a set of keys and opened the door. It was really simple, a small living room, a kitchen, three bedrooms and a bathroom.

They proposed that Amy could sleep in one room, the cryo user and the hydro user would sleep in another and the other two would sleep in the last room. No one had any objections so they said goodnight and settled themselves in their rooms. Razor and Bennett got into their sleeping clothes and laid on the bed, but after some time, the wolf boy turned to look at the other and hugged him from behind:

-Ray...? - the adventurer mumbled - You alright?

-Can I get a goodnight kiss?

The pyro user blushed, but turned and kissed the others lips softly, they cuddled for a bit before falling asleep in each other's arms.
