chapter 27: 10 fold revenge

Sky's POV

I can't believe Eco is being so stubborn and embarrassing ourselves in the party. Some people are already looking at us as we're having a talk more like a fight with the waiter, especially Eco. I don't know why can't he just exchange the drink with me instead of making such a fuss. He's sure a hot head.

"W-what?" Eve asks when Eco told her to taste the drink.

"Yeah, you seem to like the drink so try it and let us know how it is." Eco tells her.

"I-I don't want to. Why would I drink the one given to you when I've mine?" Eve declines and for some reason she seems nervous.

"I insist Miss Eve." Eco insists with a smile which isn't real but evil.

"Eco, stop! You're making me embarrassed. Just don't drink the damn drink. It's fine. Why are you making such a huge fuss just for a drink?" I question him as I'm having enough of his attitude.

"Miss Eve, have this drink. Now!" My words go in deaf ear as Eco again asks Eve to drink. More like orders her.

"Why are you forcing me when I don't want? That's redicious!" Eve exclaims and stands, "Sky, your husband is being too much. I didn't expect to receive such treatment from your side."

She points a finger at me and I feel so embarrassed to receive a word from her.

"Shut up and drink this!" Eco fumes as he too gets up and orders Eve to drink.

I follow him and stand up while trying to make him calm down. By now, everyone is already watching us like a damn scene from a movie.

"I'll not!" Eve screams angrily.

"Why will you not?" Eco asks her, his voice loud and strong.

"Because it has drug in it!" Eve blurs out in anger and I snap at her in shock.

She blured out the truth because Eco made her angry and she didn't know she's outing herself. Realising what she just said, she looks at me first before looking around her. Everyone is already murmuring amongst themselves. Her face turns pale and sweat forms all over.

"How do you know it has drug in it?" I call out her.

Is she the one who did it?

"I-I.." she starts but not a word comes out of her mouth, she glances at Eco who has a smirk on his face, "I've seen your husband telling the waiter to put the drug in the drink. He's trying to drug me, Sky. Believe me."

I turn and look at Eco who's smirk is now replaced with a frown.

Is she telling the truth? Did Eco really asked the waiter to put the drug in the drink? Is that why he was gone for a while during our dinner? I know Eco hates Eve but I don't think he'll go this extent.

"Do you have any proof that Eco really did this?" I query her because without a proof I can't blame either of them.

"Yes, if you want confirmation, ask the waiter he'll tell you the truth." She points to the waiter who is literally shaking in fear.

"Did my husband give you the drug to put it in the drink?" I ask the waiter.

"Y-yes, sir." He replies while keeping his head low.

I can't believe what I just heard. I can't believe Eco went this extent for Eve.

"Eco, why did you do this?" Turning back to Eco, I question him.

He stays silent as he stares straight into my eyes. In his eyes, for the first time, I see how broken he is. It has 'don't you believe me' look in them. It is so strong that I feel guilty for even questioning him. His eyes glisten with unshed tears. But since there's already a live witness for what has been conspired, I need to question him. Husband or not, wrong doings have to be punished. He blinks his eyes as to snap himself before he talks to me.

"Before I tell you why I did that, let me show you something first." He says with a sniffle and takes out his phone from his pocket.

He unlocks it, opens his gallary and plays a video to me. The video a little out of angle and blur but I can see Eve and the waiter in it. Eve speaks and pulls out a small packet from her purse. The waiter shakes his head upon seeing the packet and then Eve takes out money which the waiter accepts along with the small packet. He pours the content in the drink which is in the discussion and then they both walk out. Through the audio I can clearly hear Eve telling the waiter to give the drugged drink to Eco. The video is the proof that Eve is the one who actually drugged the drink and now putting the blame on Eco, the waiter playing along with her. After seeing the video, I turn to her and look at her with anger.

"Eve, why did you do this?" I question her sternly. She don't reply and keep her head down, fidgeting with her hands, "I asked why you did this?"

I repeat my question stern and strong that she jumps in shock.

"I-I'm sorry, Sky." She apologizes.

"That's not the answer to my question." I state and wait for her.

"Why you ask? Then listen to me," she starts, her tone strong and tears glistening her eyes, "I've liked you for so long and been trying to make you feel the same. Accept me and get together but you never even gave a second glance at me. Since you never involved yourself in relationships, I thought I'll have a chance even if it takes time. But you just accepted this guy when your mother proposed. Like what about me, Sky? It made me furious and I wanted him away from your live. My plan was to drug him and hook him up with some random guy and put the video out for everyone to know. In that way, you'll trash him away from your life and then I'll take it my chance to make you mine. I did all this for you, Sky because I love you."

She explains with tears streaming down her face.

I don't know what to say but one thing for sure is what she did is completely wrong. Drugging my husband and hooking him up with someone and then posting it to news just to break us both apart is so evil of her. She might love me but I don't have the same feelings towards her. When we love someone we only want them to be happy regardless whether it's with us or someone else. If she loved me really, then she shouldn't have done this. Should let me be with the one I like. This isn't love.

"Eve, your motive behind is so silly and meaningless. And your plan showed how evil your thoughts are. You've made a grave mistake and I'm going to file a case on you for trying to drug my husband. Going to cancel all our business collebrations and cut all ties with you. Hope to see you never again." I say and turn to Eco, "Eco, let's go."

I turn around to leave but Eco is still standing in his place while staring at Eve who is now standing like a statue. He moves forward and stands in front of her. He glares before grabbing the glass and splashing the drink on her face which earns gasp from her and murmurs from people around. Some are even recoding everything that has been happening here. When Eve wipes her face with her hand and stares back at Eco, he gives a tight and hard slap on her cheek. So hard that the sound resonated the whole venue. Before he could even do something more, I hug him through his waist and pull him back. I don't want him to get into any trouble for hitting a girl.

"This isn't because you like my husband because no one can control others feeling but because you planned to drug me and hook me up with someone. You don't do something bad to me and get away from it. I'm gonna take my revenge x10 times more." Eco warns her who is looking at him in shock while holding her cheek.

Eco then turns to everyone, "those who have taken the videos, release them in all social medias and make them go viral. No one will stop you guys." He looks back at Eve, "with this, your chapter is going to close. You're going to wind up your business and end up in jail. And don't even think about revenge because as I said, I'll give you back 10 folds in return."

After one last warning to Eve, Eco stomps out of the venue with me following his trail.
