chapter 25: Still hitting on?

Sky's POV

"Eco, are you ready?" I shout from where I'm sitting on the bed so that Eco who is in the closet can hear me.

"Almost, baby, will be there in a minute." He shouts in return.

I sigh as I shake my head. Does a minute mean an hour in his dictionary? He has been in the closet for like hours now and whenever I call him, he says he needs a minute more which ends up being an hour. It's just a simple success party, I don't know what's the need for him to take so much time to get ready. I bet Ave didn't even invite anyone to the party apart from me so it's not like people will be there to watch him. I got ready in like ten minutes and waiting for him for like hours now.

To pass the time, I take out my phone and scroll casually. Even this gets bored a while later. I turn off the phone and get up before putting the phone in my pocket to go and call Eco by myself. This won't do, I have to knock the door and pull him out otherwise I don't know if he'll even come out today or not. As I walk forward, my steps halt when I see the door to closet gets open and there walks out Eco. I stay still in my place as I look at him while he moves and walks towards me before standing in front of me.

"Baby, how do I look? Good enough? I tired my best to look great and match with you." Eco says after asking my opinion.

I couldn't utter a word, my whole being got stunned as I watch his beautiful self. I know Eco is pretty but the him standing in front of me right now is beautiful being words. He's blooming with beauty. He wore a baby pink suit with white shirt within, his suit is matching with that of mine except that mine is baby blue in colour. He styled his hair, not so overly styled though. He parted his hair from middle, the hair strands falling onto his eyebrows from both the sides and making him look very graceful. He has light make up on his face which can obviously go unnoticed if you won't pry on him keenly. His honey round eyes sparking like stars in the sky and a smile plestered on his red plump lips which are shining with gloss. His aura is screaming confident and he's looking gorgeous.

"Baby, say something! Am I not good? So bad that you can't say a word?" His red glossy lips form a pout as he queries me.

"You...you look beautiful, Eco." I state, finding myself to utter the words from being so lost in his beauty.

"Really? Thank you, baby. I'm relieved that the time I spent on getting ready is paying off as I'm looking beautiful." He giggles while taking his steps towards me, "do you think I'll be more beautiful than your business partner tonight?"

I stare straight into his eyes as he waits for my answer with weaving eyes, "you're going to look beautiful than anyone at the party tonight. And you're way more beautiful than Eve, not just tonight but all the time."

"That I know," his smirks but then his features softens, "I'm glad you think that way." He states with tenderness in his eyes, "let's go now. I'm eager to see what's going to happen." His smug look is back on his face.

I shake my head, off the trance I've been after seeing him and also off the antics he's showing. Together, we leave our room and head downstairs. My whole family is sitting in the living room and watching a movie by snuggling into each other as couples, mom and old man together and River and Ivan together. Hearing our footsteps, mom is the first one to turn around and seeing us he pulls himself from the old man's embrace as he stands up.

"Are you ready to go now?" Mom asks with a smile while watching both of us.

"Yes, mom. We're going now." I reply to which he nods.

"Now that you're with Eco, relax yourself and enjoy the party, Sky." Mom says to me and then turns to Eco, "you too Eco, have fun at the party."

"Of course, uncle Sidney. I'm gonna make sure it's going to be fun." He winks at my mom with a playful smile to which mom lets out a chuckle while I sigh at his act.

"Bye, mom. We'll get going now otherwise we'll be late to the party. Thanks to someone who took the whole time to get ready." I say sarcastically while side glancing at Eco.

"Excuse me! Are you accusing me for getting late?" Eco calls me out immediately with a unbelievable expression on his face.

"I'm not. When did I mention your name, Eco?" I act innocent while turning to him.

"Though you didn't mention my name, you definitely mean me." He folds his hands on his chest and huffs.

"Glad that you realised." I shrug, surpassing my laugh at his expression.

"Enough, you both. If you keep bickering at each other, you guys will definitely be late to the party. Get going now." Mom chuckles while shaking his head.

"Bye, mom." I kiss him on the cheek and turn around as I make my way out.

"Bye uncle Sidney, bye you all!" Eco shouts bye to all before he runs behind me.

We both get in the car and give the location to the driver who follows the directions as he starts to drive. During the drive, neither I nor Eco says anything. I'm usually quite so it's not a surprise but Eco being silent is shocking. When I look at him, I find him staring out of the window and looks like he's in deep thoughts. I don't disturb him and let the drive continue in silence. A while later, the car stops as we reach the venue. We both get down and head towards the entrance. What surprises me is the welcome board that is put up in front along with Eve and mine photo. She never did this before since it was just her and me. But now, she put a picture and I don't know why.

I don't think much and just walk ahead. I was about to step in after the guard opening the door but stop when I don't feel the presence of Eco. I turn back and find him standing at the entrance while watching the banner. I frown as I think why he's taking time watching it but soon realise he's actually glaring at it. If looks could kill, Eve would have been under 6 feet now. I gulp as I move close to him. I'm even scared to call him so I bring my hand toward his and hold his hand in mine. It shocks him because he jolts out in response and looks at me.

"Shall we go?" I ask softly.

I love my life. And I know if I don't behave tonight, Eco won't back down on giving me a lesson.

"Um... Yeah." He nods and we both walk.

The security guard opens the door seeing us, I thank him before we step in. As soon as our foot enters, Eco tightens his hold around my hand. An indication that he won't let go of my hand and I shouldn't do it as well. Together, hand in hand, we walk inside.

"Hello Sky!" I get greeted by Eve, she's walking towards us excitedly.

So excited that she almost tripped but balanced herself before she could embarrassed herself as there is no one to catch her even if she was to fall down.

"Hi Eve." I greet her back the moment she stands in front of us.

"Hi...I'm sorry I forgot your name." She fake apologises to Eco. I'm sure she actually remembers his name.

"Eco Walker." Eco replies with a smile, a very warning one.

"Yeah, Eco. Hi." She greets him as well, "I'm so happy that you guys actually came. Follow me, I'll take you to the table."

She gestures us so we follow her as she takes us to a table where her secretary is already there. On the table, the name board has her's and mine name together. Seriously, what kind of game she's playing? Knowing I'm already married now, why does she still try and do things this way? Especially in front of my husband.

"This is our seat, please sit. The program will start soon." She says.

Reluctantly, Eco and I settle down followed by Eve who sits on the other side of mine and her secretary next to her. I sigh internally, I'm already regretting coming to this party. Hope things won't go downhill all the way.
