chapter 16: Distracted baby

Eco's POV

Today's sleep has to be one of the most comfortable and fulfilling sleep of my life. I actually sleep so well, regardless of the place and time. I don't mind about anything else and just get into sleep. So I never had any short of sleepiness but today it feels even great. The mattress is more comfortable and more soft, not so fluffy though but I still like it. I yawn and open my eyes, finally waking up. I get greeted with a white sheet and when I place the hand on it, I feel bumps which makes me frown.

"If you're awake, can you get up from me?" I hear Sky's voice and look up as it's from there I head.

I see his face so close to me as he's watching me. I glance down onto the bed and up at him again to realise I'm not really sleeping on the bed but on him actually. Then I remember how I hugged him while sleeping yesterday and we continued it until now.

"Good morning, baby." I greet him with a smile.

"Morning," he mumbles in return, "can you get you?"

"Hmm... I will." As his request, I pull up my body from him and lay on the bed on my back, "I had a very good sleep."

"I'll fresh up and get back. We'll eat breakfast, I'm hungry as it's already past my breakfast time." Sky says while walking to the bathroom.

I hum at him as I roll around the bed for a while before finally sitting up. I look around for my phone but I don't find it. Where did I keep my phone? I always have it near me. I think I forgot where I put because of my drunken state and since Sky brought me back, maybe he'll know about it. I decide to ask him about it and get down the bed as I approach the bathroom.

"Baby, did you see my phone?" I ask him through the door after knocking it.

"What? I can't hear you." He shouts from the other side.

"My phone, baby. Did you see?" I repeat a little loud and instead of getting an answer I hear the door opening.

He stands in front of me inside the bathroom in a towel as he opens the door. He's wet with water draining from his hair. Drops of it are sliding down his body, from his hair onto his firm chest. His body is fit and have firm muscles, very toned and well maintained. He runs his hands through his wet hair and I gulp down as I watch him. I'm feeling hot inside. Damn! My husband is so hot. I know I didn't make a wrong choice when I chose to marry him.

"Eco?" He calls my name and I snap as I look at his face.

Concentrate Eco! Concentrate!

"Ah..." I shutter annoyingly.

"I asked you what were you saying? I couldn't hear you from inside because of the water." He asks me.

"What was I saying?" I ask him in return because damn it I don't remember why I'm standing here.

"How will I know that?" He sighs while shaking his head, "I'm going back to shower. If you remember, ask me once I come out. Don't bother when I'm bathing."

He goes to close the door but I stop.

"Baby, stop." He gives a look but stops nonetheless, "I remember now. I was asking you did you see my phone. I'm not finding it."

"Oh, I put it in your bag. And I put your bag in the cabin same as our luggage." He replies and closes the door.

I stand still for a moment before letting out my breath and fanning myself while walking to the cabin. Like he said, my bag is out at our luggage. I take it and open it to get my phone. After grabbing the phone, I put the bag back and head to the bed. I sit and scroll my phone. I didn't post anything since yesterday so I don't really have many notifications. I'm just randomly watching few videos and passing time until Sky finishes and comes out. Thinking of Sky, I don't have his number. OMG! We're married but didn't even exchange our numbers. We were both so dump, I say. I'm gonna ask for his number the first thing when he comes out of the bathroom until then I just use my phone.

After a while, I hear the door sound again and look up to see Sky walking out with just a towel. Can this guy please be in full clothes? For the sanity of my mind and body! Why does he keep showing off his tempting body? I shake my head to stop my thoughts and remember to ask him about the phone number.

"Baby, we don't have each other's numbers with us. We didn't exchange and I don't know how it happened." I tell him as I look down at my phone.

If I continue to see him, I can't guarantee what will I do next? What if I jump on him and kiss him senseless? We just had a proper talk yesterday and are slowly getting in good terms now so I don't want to do anything that he won't like. That's why I didn't force him when he said he's not comfortable to call me baby. I'll wait.

"Oh, yeah. We didn't exchange." He mumbles.

"Let's do it now." I say and ask for his number, "give me your number."

He tells me his number and I save it in my phone. I sent him a message to indicate that it's my number and put my phone away as I go to bathroom to get ready. Once we're both done, we leave our room and get down. The driver is already waiting for us. The moment his eyes land on me, he keeps his eyes away.

"Hey, I'm sorry for yesterday. I didn't mean to shout at you. I was just in bad mood that I didn't think what I was saying." I apologise because he was trying to help me yesterday but I was being rude to him.

"Um..it's okay, sir." He waves his hand with a small smile, "where do you want to go?"

"First take us to a restaurant, we'll have our breakfast and then discussion the further plan." Sky responds to him.

We then get in the car and the driver drives us to a restaurant. We eat our breakfast while talking few things here and there. Sky asks me if it's okay with me if we go to see waterfalls and I agree happily since I was the one who actually asked him. After our breakfast, Sky tells about our destination to the driver so the guy looks up for the directions in the net and follows it as he drives us.

"Baby," I call Sky and was about to talk to him when his phone rings.

He smiles the moment he sees the name and answers the call immediately.

"Hello, mama." He says and I know it's his mom that made him smile like that, "we're good, mama. It's been only a day." He chuckles, "we just had our breakfast and are going out to see waterfalls because Eco asked me last night about it. You do? One second." He says and gives me the phone, "mama wants to talk to you."

I take the phone from him.

"Hello, uncle Sidney." I greet him.

"Hey, Eco. Is everything going well?" He asks me.

"Yeah, it's all good." I tell him.

"Good to hear, then. I just called to ask you how everything is going on. I'm a little scared of how Sky is going to treat you. I mean he isn't a bad guy but he just don't know how to act around people. Just be a little patient with him and try to understand him. He'll come along." Uncle Sidney comments.

"We're good uncle Sidney." I didn't really know what to say other than that.

"Yeah, I felt so happy when he said he's taking you to the waterfalls because you asked for it. He's trying, I guess. I no need to be worried now and leave it to you to change him. I know you'll do. Enjoy the trip, yeah, I won't disturb you guys anymore with my calls. Bye, Eco." I could hear him stating excitedly.

"Bye, uncle Sidney." I too bid him bye and hand back the phone to Sky.

He takes the phone but don't talk much because I guess uncle Sidney didn't want to disturb us as he said so uncle Sidney might have hang up the call. And he looks a little sad the moment the call ends. I gaze at him a moment before I put forth my hand and hold his hand in mine. He immediately looks at me to which I smile.

"It's okay, baby." I assure him.

He seems to have a great bond and unexplainable connection with his mom.
