That perches in the soul
And sings the tune without the words
And never stops at all."

BACK TO THE DAY KRISTEN AND HER AUNT ARRIVED IN TOWN.
"Let me go, you fucking old hag!" I yelled as my aunt gripped my arm. She pulled me into the living room, her eyes red, the left one blackened.
They argued again, and he got abusive, and now we're running.
Ever heard that old saying, that history just keeps repeating itself cause things are never learned, so we just continue with stupid things we already? Well, this cycle with my aunt and her boyfriend continued for as long as I could remember.
He cheats, she gets mad, they argue, she gets hit after pushing him over the "his limit" or whatever he calls it. After, he leaves to get a drink, then come back to see we packed and left. he calls, begs and pleads until we come back, and if we don't, he has someone bring us back. Only reason he does this is cause we're the only ones who know of his affiliations and if we say anything, its bye bye birdie.
"Why do you stay with that ass?" I yelled. She glared at me, but quickly her eyes softened. A tear rolled down her cheek and she fell to her knees. She started to bawl, crying and sobbing loudly. Shit, now guilt rolled over me. I kneeled down next to her, wrapping my arms around her and held her tightly, close to me. "Kriss, I don't know what to do! If I stay, we're in danger, and if we go, we're still in danger! I'm so sorry. Please, g-go to your b-brothers in Tampa and stay there." She begged.
I looked at her dumbfounded. Of all the times I actually threatened to go down there, NOWS the time she wants me to go? "No. I'm not leaving."
She looked at me, her puffy red eye tearing and the black bruised one swelling so badly it didn't look open. Rage surged through me, her frail, pale, untouched face seeming marked with sadness. I stood up, my head screaming at me to burn the place to ashes.
"Please! Kristen Lee, go. Yael will take you, Please..." She cried. I looked up at the ceiling, my heart shattering at her pale helpless face. The look she gave me want to find Glen and shove a baseball bat into his face. I looked down back at her, grabbing her hands and helping her up. "Look, I'm not leaving you, even if the old hag that pisses me off. I still love you. Now, I want you to go pack all of our stuff, everything in all the suitcases. don't leave anything behind. Now, go. When your done, come out here and wait for me. Got it?" She nodded, running to the closet.I ran to the kitchen, searching for the scissors. Finding them, I ran to all the phones, cutting the cords that connected to them, then to the computer and cutting the LAN lines. After, I grabbed all the important papers and shoved them into a bag, going through all the rooms and grabbing anything paper.
After grabbing everything important and all of our stuff, we climbed in the car and started the three hour drive from Jaksonville. I stayed up with my IPhone and Beats playing music until I soon dozed off.
I jumped from the phone vibrating in my lap. I picked it up... and regretted it.
