(A/N) A little Eye Candy to Keep you Company ;) -->
"The mind is its own place, and in itself can make a heaven of hell, a hell of heaven." Sounds about right, right? Some old, dead white guy said that. But in all seriousness, he's right. "But how Kriss? And why do you want to talk about an old saying by a dead guy?"
Well, because. I already said it, That's how I know your not paying attention. He's right. In all of the 16- 17 words he say, ALL of its right. Look at me, for example. I've been in a hospital for 2 weeks now, and for me, it's been a fucking nightmare. But, everyone around me tells me, I could live the life right now. The doctor said I can sleep now, outside food is brought for me by my personal doctor, Conner. I had to stay for a few extra weeks because the doctors say my immune system was going haywire. Don't know why, I feel great after sleeping for 2 full days. Even with my I.S going insane.
But like I said, it's been a fucking NIGHTMARE......
And it's because of my past, that my MIND hasn't forgotten about that one experience that makes the hospital a fucked place for me.
But now, I'm so glad to be leaving and going back to school. My doctors was weary about leatting me leave, but because he noticed that I would only sleep and wake to eat and see people. As soon as the doctor said I was admitted to leave, I left as quickly as I could. I told the cabbie that was going to Jason's place, obviously I told him the address, but I changed it to Lyle's place, just because I thought a surprise was in order since he was the first person I saw when I woke up. Once the cab driver dropped me off, I looked at the enormous house, and walked up the stair. Ringing the doorbell, I was quickly attacked by a small puppy at my feet. Its black and white fluffy coat and it's cute face was just too adorable to ignore. I picked it up, and the door swung open, where two pecan haired twins stood in front of me, jaws dropped.
"Kriss! Your alive!" Dennis said. He ran a hand through his long hair and grabbed my bag. Dustin grabbed the little puppy and placed it down on the floor, where it scurried away."Sit. Now. We have big news." Following the twins, I sat down in the living room and waited for the twins to sit. They ran everywhere, from downstairs getting drinks to the pantry to grab snacks to just about every inch of the house. And the whole conversation started like this:
Dennis: "Now, why is there rumors that you had surgery?"
Dustin: "Why we're you in the hospital?"
Dennis: "Dus, what did Leigh come looking for Lyle for?"
Me: "Stop..... Dennis. What's the last thing you said?"
He looked at me and at Dustin, who turned beet red whe he heard the question. I waited for him to tell me, and what he said was heart breaking.
Dennis started. "She wanted to talk with Lyle, but whenever she came by, he was with you. Last time was yesterday, when she caught him at the right time and they left in her car." Dustin continued. "He came back about an hour later with Lillia, and even she gave him the cold shoulder, and those two are like-"
"Peanut butter and Jelly."
Dennis looked at his twin and looked at me. "I- We were hoping he didn't do anything bad. He's at school as you can see. We choose not to go in today. Feeling kinda sick and lazy."
I nodded, biting my lip to stop myself from crying. I got up, grabbed my bag and tried to leave without breaking down.
"Kriss." I turned to see Dustin looking at me. He walked up and pulled me into a hug. "Stay for the day. Don't go home by yourself." I nodded slowly, tears runnig on to his shirt. Soon, Dennis came and we were in this awkward group hug. After a minute, I looked at the twins and we made our way back to the living room.
