Lizzie's POV:

Shit, Shit, and Shit.

I woke up to Scarlett asking "Liz are you home? I want to talk about what happened last night."

That's not exactly how I wanted this morning to go I have one more week until I have to return to LA, for the filming of Captain America: Civil war before setting out to other locations to film. I was hoping I could go over to Scar's house, and talk with her about what happened, now I have to introduce Y/n to Scar great.

Getting out of bed I yelled, "Give me a minute I just woke up."

She better not start wondering the house or even wake up Y/n the poor kid looks like she hasn't slept in days. Making my way from my room to the living room, to find Scar laying down on the couch.

"Why are you here so early," I paused and looked over at the microwave clock. "it's 6 in the morning and after last night I would assume you spent the day nursing a hangover."

"Well considering how you left and that I never ended up going to sleep I figured I would come and see you apologize for my actions after you broke your engagement with Boyd you haven't stepped out into the dating world and you need to start getting out there more. "

"That still doesn't make up for what you did I mean, come on I had to at least talk with 20 different men last night that wasn't interested in talking they just wanted in my pants."

"That's my fault okay all the men you walked with are good guys I scoped them out and made sure you would feel comfortable with them."

"Their actions spoke a lot louder than their words." A calm silence stood between us, for a solid 5 minutes before I spoke. "It worked out in the best way possible anyway. Not telling you the whole story if she wants to she can, but that's her choice."

"What do you mean by that Lizzie you left a lot of gaps that need to be filled, and what do you mean by a girl?"

"I met a little that required some help, long story short there is a little girl around the age of 7 in my guest room right now named Y/n" I paused looking down at my hands nervously at what Scar was going to say next but she never spoke. "I know it's kind of weird but honestly this little girl broke my heart last night when we talked for a few minutes, I mean the instincts that I had for her the moment I met felt so real."

"You're telling me that there is a little girl in the guest room right now?"

"Yes," I breathed out as an answer. I looked back up to Scar seeing a look in her eye I've never seen before.

"Liz is this your way of telling me that you're thinking about adopting a little girl," she paused and I nodded. "If so, I want to meet her, and get to know her and the whole situation before you go all in."

I nodded and stood up, "I'm going to go get her, stay here so I can talk to her. She will probably be a little shy before opening up just a forewarning, it might take some time, also ask permission before touching her."

"Sounds good Liz, take your time I'm gonna make breakfast." She smiled before making her way to the kitchen and turning the radio on at a low volume. Slowly I made my way to where Y/n slept last night only to hear shuffling behind the door.

Upon opening the door I found her, what to be peacefully sleeping, on her stomach under the covers with her face pointing towards the windows.

"Sweatheart it's time to wake up even though I think you've been awake this entire time why don't you open up those bright blue eyes for me?" I spoke softly as I sat on the bed. Only for her to grunt to protest, before sitting up and rubbing her eyes. "Did you sleep at all cause it doesn't look like it?"

"I slept enough for me to be awake."

"Honey that's not good you need a full night's sleep to be able to function in the morning, do you know how long you slept?"

"Unsure"

"OK well, before we talk more in-depth about this I have someone I want you to meet is that okay?" She nodded in response before swinging her legs over the side of the bed and standing up.

"I have something I want to say, I heard everything you said this morning, with your friend, I couldn't make everything out but I wanted you to know that heard. I'm sorry for listening in it was rude, and not called for at all. Then again I don't trust you 100% and I don't know if I ever will, but I wanted you to know that I heard." Said we before opening the bedroom door and closing her eye briefly before steeping out and waiting for me to follow.

Her brutal honesty was something I was not expecting this early in the morning. I stepped in front of her and placed a kiss on her hairline. "I'm happy that you were honest with me, okay, but next time you can just come out of the bedroom, whenever you feel like it okay? You don't have to wait for me to come and get you."

"Okay" was her simple answer before following behind me to lead her to the kitchen where Scar was working away making all different kinds of food for breakfast. She stopped as soon as she saw me enter the room, turning off the pan and turning to face then looking past me, scanning over Y/n.

Smiled down at her before speaking, "Hello little one my name is Scarlett, but you can just call me Scar. I heard you stuck around last night with Lizzie." Scar stopped talking and looked up at me wondering if she could continue.

I nodded and offered my hand to Y/n. "Can I pick you up I want to sit you down on the counter so we can learn a bit more about each other?" She lifted her arms to me and made grabby hands with pleading eyes, looking like she doesn't want to talk yet, not comfortable with Scar.

Leaning down I picked her up and placed her down on the counter. Scar sat on a chair before continuing to speak. "Okay little one, I heard your name is Y/n is that correct?" Y/n kept a full focus on Scar almost like she was sizing her up.

Y/n answered with a nod of the head before looking around the room she was looking for exits I could see it in her eyes she wasn't comfortable right now.

Scar continued anyway but with a softer voice probably because she noticed it as well. "How old are you?"

Y/n took a deep breath before answering. "I think I'm almost 9 or 10 not sure, I lost count over the years."

" Now I don't want to make you even more uncomfortable, so at any time if you don't want to answer, I want you to tell just tell me to stop." Y/n nodded before searching the room again I wasn't sure to want she was looking for until her eyes landed on me. "Do you know where your parents are?"

"Nope"

"Who are you living with right now then?"

"At a group home just outside of the city, with Ms. Karen Bush."

"How long have you been living with Karen?"

"I think I'm going on a yearish."

"Do you know how to contact her so we can tell her that you're okay?"

"I only contact Ms. Bush when I check in nightly, which I didn't last night so I'm in big trouble?"

"What do you mean by trouble?"

Y/n stopped and looked down. "Stop." Is all she said before she hopped down from the counter and bolted into the bathroom.

"Crap, I think I went too far with that question." Scar stated as she got up from her seat and continued to cook. "Before you go check on her I just want to say, be careful how you approach. From the looks of it, she's suffering from abuse, and since she is so small, I wouldn't be surprised by the results of what we find. All in all, she's a good kid with a good heart."
