The next morning, Nana felt unsettled. She only felt unsettled because she didn't feel sick. Perhaps the usual morning sickness had subsided.

Hoping the past night wasn't a dream, she glanced down at the gleaming ring on the fourth finger of her left hand. As she smiled, she turned to Zane who happened to be waking up.

"Good morning, love," She whispered, cupping his cheeks as he faced her.

"Morning, my dear fiance. You look as beautiful as ever," He complimented. Smooth, she thought.

"Ever with my untamed bed hair?" She asked.

"Even with your magnificent bubblegum locks, tainted by sleep," he confirmed, giving the girl a quick kiss. He got out of bed and Nana sat on the edge of the mattress.

"Blueberry pancakes?" Zane suggested, tugging on the corner of their deluxe blanket, beginning to make the bed.

"I'd love that!" Nana replied, surprising Zane with a warm hug from behind and a kiss on the cheek.

"Would you like to Zane first, or me?" Zane questioned as he plumped the pillows, before setting them down again.

Nana mischievously bit her lip, "Or we could have one together..."

"I'd love to, but we can't risk hurting the baby," Zane answered, running a hand through Nana's hair.

"Okay, you go," Nana pouted, "Then I will." The girl concluded before plopping herself on the sofa and turning on the TV that was available in all the rooms.

Half an hour later, Zane had finished his shower, and Nana proceeded to have her own, as her fiancee began making their pancakes. Once he was finished and hadn't seen Nana come down the stairs, he went up to check on her.

Usually, Nana would come down immediately and compliment any food that was cooking downstairs.

But, not this morning.

Zane felt as if he knew that Nana wasn't her usual self. He'd planned that everything would be perfect for the rest of their lives and have their own happily ever after, like in the fairytales. He wanted that with Nana more than anything else.

Without knocking, Zane slowly opened the door and found Nana curled up on his side of the bed. He could hear how soft her crying was. But, why was she crying? Had he made a mistake?

Zane closed the door as quietly as he could and released his ears and tail. He walked over in front of the girl and kneeled to reach eye contact.

Nana's face was all red and puffy, stained with falling tears as she sobbed. At the sight of Zane, she shut her eyes and completely broke down in front of him.

"Nana... ssh... Nana, you'll be okay..." He said, comforting her and sitting beside her and pulling her limped body over his thighs. Nana grabbed hold of Zane's top and buried her head into his chest as she continued crying.

Zane wanted to know what had happened but his first concern was to physically be there for Nana. The meif~wa's ears had fallen and she wouldn't move her tail.

Nana then began to scream. She couldn't help it.

All the pain reached her like a fatal stab to the heart. It broke her. Zane felt broken as he witnessed the love of his life screaming into his chest. The boy continued telling her it was alright and ran his hand through her hair repeatedly until she tried to stop crying.

"Do you want to tell me what happened?" Zane softly asked, lifting her chin so she could look at him.

The girl was shattered.
