991AD, The Dark Age

Demilia brought her knees closer to her chest as she hid deep in the cave close to her family home. Even though she was far away from the village she called home, the dying screams of her family, friends, people she had known her whole life, their screams haunted her.

Tears slipped from her eyes, landing on her woollen dress made for her by her mother. The mother who was most certainly losing her life at this very moment while her daughter hid in cowardice.

Sobs erupted from Demilia, easily hidden by the tragedy of the village's destruction and extinction. Then the screams seized.

Silence.

Demilia's breath quickened, heart pounding, hands shaking.

Demilia gasped at the sound footsteps approaching her. She quickly stood moving as far away from the unknown person as she can.

Then the footsteps were coming from behind her instead of in front of her. Panic overwhelmed Demilia.

She sprinted towards the entrance of the cave never once looking behind her, she just kept running hoping the unknown person would get lost in the system of caves.

Just as Demilia reached the entrance of the cave, she was grabbed by a strong hand pulling her by her arm.

Demilia closed her eyes tightly wanting to just disappear from the situation.

"Open your eyes, darling." A deep, compelling voice said while wiping away the stray tear rolling down her face.

Demilia tried not to open her eyes but the voice practically hypnotised her so her eyes slowly opened.

"Wonderful, darling."

The stranger looked straight into her eyes to distract her from the blood that coated his face and body.

"Don't be afraid, darling. You're perfect for this." The stranger explains.

"Perfect for what?" Her voice cracks.

"You'll find out soon enough darling." The voice deepens which makes her look into his eyes.

Demilia watches in horror as his eyes change into a blood red and fangs grow from his gums creating a monster.

With in the blink of an eye, Demilia winces as she feels an agonising pain in her neck and she suddenly feel weaker.

A few seconds later, Demilia's eyes blur and her body falls limp against the unknown person.

She whimpers in pain before her eyes start to close and the darkness takes over.

:

Demilia's eyes flicker open and she groans in pain when she is met with an aching sensation all over her body.

"Look who's awake." The same dark, creepy voice echoes throughout the cave.

Demilia flinches and tries to back away from the vampire.

"What did you do to me?" She whimpers.

"I made you better. Darling, you're going to thank me for making you this way." He says.

"Why do I feel like this?" Demilia cries.

"That's your body telling you to feed. Once you do, you will feel a whole lot better." The mysterious vampire tells Demilia.

"But I don't want to." Demilia looks down ashamed.

"You have to. You don't have a choice. You should embrace your true nature. Your vampire nature. And don't worry about that feeling of shame and guilt. It will go away soon enough, just give it a century." He smirks at Demilia.

"A century." Demilia asks before coming to a realisation. "How old are you?"

"About 5000, give or take. You lose count after a while." he chuckles at the fear filling Demilia's eyes.

"Who are you?" She trembles.

"My dear, I am Arthur Count, of the Count Vampires. And darling you are the newest addition to the count vampire bloodline, welcome." He smirks. "Now let's have some real fun."

He gestures to a young man standing a few feet away. He was shaking and had a look of terror on his face.

"Please." He begs. "Please, don't kill me."

"I won't kill you." A look of relief spread across his features. "She will."

I  drown out his begging and pleading as I step toward him, my mouth watering at the scent of his blood and the sound of his heart pumping blood around his body.

I push my head to the side so his neck is on show.

"Do it." Arthur whispers. "Kill him."

I sink my teeth into the side of his neck quickly breaking the skin and a feeling of relief fills me as I consume his blood. I feel the fangs grow in my mouth and my whole body tingles. I feel like I'm floating.

The body of the young man drops to the floor with his eyes wide and his body still. His heart no longer beating and his lungs no longer fighting for air.

There stood Demilia. Eyes as red as blood. Fangs as sharp as knives.

There stood Demilia Count. The vampire.
