I put on a green dress and meet Steve and Bucky at Howard Stark's convention. I walk up to them.

"There she is. How you doing, beautiful?" Bucky teases.

"Fine. What are we doing here anyway?" I question.

"We're here to have fun, not just sulk inside all day because you didn't get what you wanted." Bucky mocks Steve. "I don't see what the problem is anyway. You're about to be the last eligible man in New York. You know there's three and a half million women here?"

"Well, I'd settle for just one." Steve replies.

"Good thing I took care of that." Bucky waves at some women.

"For goodness sake." I curse under my breath.

"Hey Bucky." An obnoxious voice shouts.

"What'd you tell her about me?" Steve sighs.

"Only the good stuff." Bucky answers.

:

"Now I'm going to warn you, what I'm about to do will be quite painful and nothing you've ever seen before so you gotta do me favour. Can you do that for me?" I whisper into his ear.

"Yes. I can do that." His shaky voice replies, his legs shaking struggling to keep him upright.

My blood red eyes shine through.

"Stay silent and forget this ever happened."

His eyes flash red and he nods confirming my mind control.

"Good." I say before quickly biting into his neck draining his blood.

His heartbeat starts to slow which tells me its time to stop.

I release my hold from him.

"Demi." A horrified voice echoes through the alley.

Oh no. Shit.

"You shouldn't be here Steve." My voice stern but concerned.

"Why did you do that?" Steve voice shakes with fear.

"It's what my kind do Steve, we weren't given much choice."

"Your kind. Demi, what are you talking about?"

"I'm not like you, Steve. I'm not human."

"Then what are you?" He questions.

Silence.

I place my hand on the man's neck covering the bite mark. Heat rushes to my hand. Bite mark is replaced with fresh porcelain skin.

"I'm a vampire."

:

"I'm surprised you even brought me here given your recent discovery." My voice breaks the silence.

Steve sighs, "I figured if I got into trouble you would be able to get me out of it and not tell Bucky about it."

"So I'm you're babysitter again wonderful."

"Demi, I don't care if you're an alien, you are my best friend and you always will be. You are the only person that has been their for me day after day for the past 2 years." Steve rambles.

My reply is cut off by a gentleman stepping into the room.

"So, you want to go overseas. Kill some Nazis." His heavily accented voice echoes.

"Excuse me?" Steve replies.

"Dr Abraham Erskine. I represent the Strategic Scientific Reserve." He shakes Steve's hand.

"Steve Rogers." He introduces. "Where are you from?"

"Queens. 73rd Street and Utopia Parkway. Before that, Germany. This troubles you?" Asks Erskine.

Steve quickly shakes his head, "No."

"Where are you from, Mr Rogers? Is it New Haven? Or Paramus? Five exams in five different cities." Erskine says, clearly catching onto the act.

"That might not be the right file." Steve tries to deny.

Erskine quickly cuts him off, "No, it's not the exams I'm interested in. It's the five tries. But you didn't answer my question. Do you want to kill Nazis?"

His bluntness makes me chuckle under my breath.

"Is this a test?" Steve questions.

"Yes." Another blunt answer.

"I don't want to kill anyone. I don't like bullies. I don't care where they're from." Steve admits.

"Well, they are already so many big men fighting this war. Maybe what we need now is a little guy, huh? I can offer you a chance. Only a chance." Offered Erskine.

I shook my head, "Steve, think this through."

My demand went ignored.

"I'll take it." Steve rushed after Erskine making me sigh in annoyance.

"Good."

"But only if Demi can come with me." My eyes widen at his answer.

"What, no. Steve, shut up." I stutter.

"She may be the answer to winning this war." Steve announces. "Demi, show him."

"No. Steve, I didn't tell you so you could go blabbing it to anyone you want." I scold him, my expression stern.

"Well you have to show me now. I'm intrigued." Erskine's expression showing curiosity and slight confusion.

"Fine." I gave in. "Stupid feelings."

Dragging Steve back behind the curtain, closing it once Erskine has followed us in.

"If I am to show you, you have to promise me you will tell no one about what you see hear today. And if you do, they will be dire consequences. Like world ending consequences." I point at him.

"Scouts honour." Erskine places his hand on his heart, therefore I raise my eyebrows at him. "Continue."

Taking a deep breath, I close my eyes. Once they reopen, blood red eyes are staring at him, fangs revealing themselves.

"Extraordinary. The legend of the vampires was thought to be myth. Are their many more of your kind?" He rambles.

"Not that I know of. I've only ever met one other vampire and he was the one that turned me, I haven't seen another one since." I explain.

Erskine smiles widely, "I will happily allow her to attend, Steven."

Steve smiles from ear to ear while I scoff at their giddiness.
