"Colonel Phillips, my committee is demanding answers." Brandt says.

"Great. Why don't we start with how a German spy got a ride to my secret installation in your car?" Colonel pauses. "What have we got here?"

Our attention turns to Howard, "Speaking modestly, I'm the best mechanical engineer in this country. But I don't know what's inside this thing or how it works. We're not even close to this technology." Howard explains.

"Then who is?" Brandt asks.

"Hydra." I answer.

"I'm sure you've been reading our briefings." Colonel Phillips adds.

"I'm on a number of committees, Colonel." Brandt scoffs.

I also scoff, "Hydra is the Nazi deep science division."

"Led by Johann Schmidt. But he has much bigger ambitions." Peggy joins in.

"And I doubt a few committees will scare him." Peggy nudges me in the side but I just shrug.

"Hydra is practically a cult. They worship Schmidt. They think he's invincible." Colonel says.

"So what are you going to do about it?" Brandt questions.

"I spoke to the President this morning. As of today, the SSR is being retasked. We are taking the fight to Hydra. Pack your bags, Agent Carter. You too, Stark. We're flying to London tonight." Colonel replies.

"Sir? If you're going after Schmidt, I want in." Steve says.

"You're an experiment. You're going to Alamogordo."

"The serum worked." Steve sighs.

"I wanted an army. All I got was you." Colonel countered.

"And me." I add.

"We're not going to talk about you, Agent Count."

Brandt interrupts, "Yes, we are. Because I, for one, want to know how you got from one side of the room to the other in less than a second and got two bullets to the back and yet managed to come out of it unscathed."

"I thought it was obvious." Howard joins in. "Heals from any wound, unnatural strength, incredible speed, inhumane reflexes." He scoffs at all the confused faces. "She's a vampire."

"How do you know? I could be a werewolf." I joke.

"Yeah, you could be if it weren't the fact that werewolves don't exist." I nod my head in agreement.

"So you are a vampire, the creatures that have fuelled the supernatural hysterical in this country for decades. The myths, the legends. They are all true." Colonel asks.

"Pretty much." I answer back.

"Why don't we just get an army of vampires. If there so great." Brandt says seriously making me laugh.

"What?" Brandt questions.

"For that idea to work, you would have to hope for a flaming miracle."

"Why?" Brandt asks, confused.

"Because I've been on this Earth a long time and I have never ever came across anyone else like me. For all I know, I might be the only out there." I explain.

"Well-W-What happened to the rest of them?" Brandt questions.

"Ever heard of Van Helsing?" I question.

"Like the legendary vampire hunter. Is he real too?" Colonel asks in reply.

"Very real. There's a whole bloodline of them. One dies, the children just follow in their parents footsteps." I say.

"So the Helsings hunts vampires but yet they aren't hunting you." Brandt adds.

"Thankfully, they haven't caught up to me yet. And hopefully they never will."
